U. K teen snaps a ghost ??

Is this a ghost ??

picture from "The Sun " U.K …

what do dopers think ??

Not to be a buzzkill, but I don’t see how the thing can be called ‘ghoulish’. Me personally? Given the picture itself, and the sensationalism of The Sun, I’m heavily inclined to be skeptical.

Tripler
The truth is out there.

It’s in The Sun. Says everything.

It’s about as valid as the clown from Denver claiming to have video of an extraterrestial.

ETA: Cite.

That’s one thing I hate about Denver. All the goddamned aliens.

As for the OP, why shouldn’t it be a ghost? More people claim to have seen ghosts than claim to have walked on the moon, and yet we are willing to believe a handful of high-end government employees but not millions of unrelated individuals from every corner of the earth through the history of mankind?

Of course there are ghosts. No I can’t explain exactly what they are, but neither can I explain the physics of rocketry and of lobbing a complex ball of metal, glass and plastic to the moon.

It looks to me like a reflection of something onto the window through which he was taking the picture.

No, it isn’t a ghost. That which doesn’t exist can’t be photgraphed.

Most importantly, at least to me, is that if that’s all ghosts are then who cares? Sentient spirits of the departed? Interesting. Smudgy looking whispy things that only sort of sometimes show up on cameras? Yawn.

Well, I think a fairer comparison would be to say that more people have seen people walk on the moon than have seen ghosts.

Awwwww, if you’d gone with ‘says it all’, that would have been at the reading level of monosyllabic Sun readers.

As for Connor Bond, I think he is spending too long playing around with Photoshop.

For the same reason it shouldn’t be a flying spaghetti monster, a unicorn or a talking carnivorous plant from outer space: these things do not exist in the real world.

Are you referring to the other 'nauts who were on the moon too (and thus are asserting that nobody has really seen a ghost firsthand whereas at least some people witnessed other dudes walking around on the moon)?

Because everyone else has only seen TV of people walking on the moon. Leci n’est pas une pipe and all that. And even at that, more people can claim to have seen video of ghosts than video of mooncruisin’. So I’ve run rings around you logically.

ETA: QED: Oh, so you know everything that exists in the world do you? Got yerself a list do you? Or would you assert that I do not in fact have a Christmas cactus on my desk because you’ve never seen it?

And I did see a documentary about a talking carnivorous plant from outer space. So there.

(Is it Friday yet…I’d much rather do this over a few pints of Guinness)

Looks like a fairly shoddy double exposure to me. Look at the smudge on the right–I think it’s supposed to be an outline of something else in the previous picture.

Heretic!

No idea what it is. I just wanted to mention that I’m a Tulloch, Tulloch castle was the seat of the branch of the Davidson clan whence we sprang (Davidson of Tulloch), and I stayed there on my honeymoon.

Mundane, pointless, and stuff.

Why the hell would a ghost need to use a handrail?

Can a digital camera double-expose? I thought that was a film trick when the film didn’t advance?

ANYWAY, yeah, in the words of Cheech & Chong: “mmm, look like bullshit…smell like bullshit…oh, yeah, taste like bullshit. must be bullshit”

It looks suspiciously like bong smoke to me.

Okay, this is *exactly * what I was thinking when I looked at the picture. Now that’s scary…

You’re right–I missed the part where they downloaded it onto his computer. Mea culpa. :o

It’s still very obviously not a real ghost photo, though.
