On the Straight Dope main page, there’s something up with the link up top to the message boards: For some reason, it’s giving the address of the old UBB board ( http://www.straightdope.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/Ultimate.cgi ). It auto-redirects to http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb , but it’s weird that the link URL should be the old one. Any ideas why it’s reverted this way?
Probably some leftover from those UBB days that snuck back in when we had a system crash and the techs reinstalled from a backup.
I’ll alert them to the problem and see if we can’t do something about it.
