Was anyone else watching this? What an incredible match.
That game had everything - extra time, nine goals (including a penalty and an own goal), two sendings-off, two disallowed girls. Talk about nail-biting.
I thought Liverpool were fantastic in the first half, and Alaves equally good in the second. But I can’t help but feel sorry for Desio, the guy that let the winner in. What a way to lose, scoring an own goal.
I’m ashamed to admit this… I leaned back after the 2-0, and subsequently fell asleep. When I woke up, I figured Liverpool had gotten away easily. UNTILL I SAW THE SCORE.
Sweet Jesus… I’ll catch the reruns later. Hell, Jordi even scored. Not watching that is like saying “Nah, fuck that Haley Comet. I’ll catch it next time around”.
Yep, it was a great game and much credit to Alaves for coming back again and again.
Disappointed that Liverpool conceded two headed goals by ball watching but overall a thrilling performance by both sides. Somehow, I don’t think Bayern Munich will give us such an entertaining spectacle.
I have nothing to add about the game, but I’d just like to take this opportunity to bitch about the BBC reporting Liverpool as “the first club in British football history to win three cups in the same season.”
WALK ON! WALK ON!
What an unbelievable match. Alaves where lucky that the keeper stayed on the pitch after he fouled Owen.
At last european football was given a final that was really worth watching.
So, who’s taking bets on a 0-0 draw in the Champions league final?
Disallowed girls? Ding-Dong!
