You know, I’m starting to think that it’s bad coaching, and not a lack of team speed, that is killing them as of late. You’re up by 4, you’re facing arguably the best QB in college football, you KNOW they have to get into the end zone, so what do you do? You leave nobody deep on defense and watch their best receiver breeze by the one guy who should have made the tackle to win the game.
What do you expect from a team named for a dead deer’s severed optical organ? Yuck.
Lick my fucking nuts (did I do it right?)
I hate OSU and was rooting for Texas. Then I saw that super-mullet that 77 was sporting and had to rethink that for a second.
Amen. The only BCS bowl team the Buckeyes have beaten since 2002 was Notre Dame under the noted genius Charlies Weis.
As an Ohioan born and raised, it pains me. It genuinely pains me.
I understand your pain, but you guys are forgetting that many people thought that Texas was the best team in the nation, and were speculating whether or not the AP might vote them into another split National Championship (after the demolished OSU). Ohio State (along with Ol’ Miss) proved that the Big 12 was overrated all along. Ohio State was a decided underdog, and they held their weight all throughtout the game. They have nothing to be ashamed of.
I love my Bucks and I’m proud of them for playing with heart. Sure, it’s disappointing to lose but I felt tonight for the first time in a few years that they were in the game psychologically as well as physically. If they can maintain that attitude, they will do well next year as Pryor gains more experience.
I have little real interest in college football, but for reasons i don’t fully understand, the only strong emotion it draws from me is a deep, abiding hostility toward Notre Dame and Ohio State. The worst thing about those two teams playing one another is that one of them has to win, but at least it’s balanced by the fact that one of them also has to lose.
Come on. OSU played out of their heads tonight, and Beanie Wells was a beast. I do agree that Tech peaked during the season and got whipped in their bowl game… but again, that Ole Miss team beat Florida at home.
OSU only lost by a TD vs. Penn State, the Big 11 champ. Who was creamed in their bowl game vs. USC. In essence the #2 Big 11 team lost to the #2 Big 12 team. I don’t see how you can consider the Big 12 overrated… it’s really the other way around. You would think Tressel and his team would have figured out the kinks in their bowl game prep but they haven’t to date.
OSU’s pass defense was exposed tonight as well. Colt McCoy torched them for over 400 yards… Hook 'em!!!
I’d put the problem squarely on the coordinators, but as a scarlet-blooded Buckeye fan I can’t be too disappointed in this game. I expected much worse. Sadly, this game will almost certainly mean that there will be no pressure to fire the Lesser Jims.
I’ve never coached a single play in football, but could have managed that last 16 seconds better. Texas had a 15 yard penalty on the kickoff. Easy call. Fair catch the kick off. Jesus Christ! They only needed to get into feild goal range to get into overtime! What does OUS do? Waste time with a “up the middle” nothing run. Time wasted. Follow up with a sack. Not a quick throw outside or incomplete. More time gone. All that is left is a “Hail Mary”. Game over.
They wanted to lose. And it showed.
Fucking Weak. That’s why I picked Texas a month ago.
OSU had it won with 2 minutes to play. The missed tackle with 14 seconds was the final act . I did not see either team playing inspired football and neither made a case for being the top team in the nation.
Maybe, but my top three are now:
-
Florida
-
Oklahoma
-
Buckeyes
If the interviews I saw are true, FLORIDA has blazing speed
I thought the team was named after a recipe for delicious peanut butter balls?
