College football-rivalry week.

Michigan came out with offensive focus I didn’t expect them to have. No guarantee they will be able to keep it up, but great game from Blue so far.

What happened in the fight? I heard Ohio State had two starters ejected, and Michigan lost a backup linebacker…

I’m eagerly anticipating the Iron Bowl this afternoon. Ought to be a classic.

Wow, two pointer for the win. Big Cojones on Hoke. I like the move…
But not the result. :frowning:

I don’t have a problem with the call either. Michigan couldn’t stop OSU’s rushing attack at all. It would have been deadly in overtime. I think Hoke took the higher percentage based on the game play and it didn’t work.

They had momentum. It was a bad call IMHO. Anything can happen in OT, but the Wolverines didn’t get there. Hell of a game though, the Maize and Blue fought hard.

Michigan showed some character and made a game of it when they had no business doing so. They’ll be talking about the 2 point conversion for decades. Not sure what I would have done- they couldn’t stop OSU but they also could have gotten a turnover in OT. Valiant try. Hoke will be on a short leash next year, he really can’t afford another year like this.

Good job on the referees to keep the game from turning into a gang fight. It will be interesting if the OSU players get suspended by the Big 10 for next weeks title game.

It looked like there was a UM player throwing a punch as well. If he’s suspended, it would be for the bowl game.

I thought it was the right call, too, but was not actually expecting them to do it, especially after saying out loud that they should go for two. Ohio State just looked unstoppable on the run, and I think Mich’s best shot was to close it out there. Oh well.

After thinking about it I still think i was the right thing to do. I figure you got probably a 70% chance of winning it then and there with a QB that runs that well. Unfortunately the Defense suckered Gardner into a bad throw.

But still, a game that close to an unranked team should flush any hope they had of jumping another unbeaten team, so there is some schadenfreude in it.

I think I picked the right day to be lazy and watch college football.

Saban leaves for Texas in 3, 2, 1.

Un Farcking Believable!

WTF are you thinking Saban?

WAR EFFING EAGLE!!!

Ouch. There goes the undefeated season, and the chance to three-peat, and a piece of my soul.

Hell of a game, though.

I am in a bar full of auburn fans. The atmosphere is…festive.

Love Gary Danielson’s analysis.

'Bama doesn’t have any athletes on the field, only Fatties.
There was also a place kicker and holder.

Interesting idea I just read on Twitter.

MSU beats Ohio State. FSU QB Winston gets charged in this he said she said mess, would that potentially lead to an Auburn/Alabama rematch?

Highly unlikely, I don’t think MSU can beat Ohio State and I think there’s a lot more smoke than fire with this nasty dispute at FSU. I’m an FSU alum so I’m hoping this scenario does not play out, but I’d far rather watch Alabama and Auburn again than Ohio State in the BCS.

Why would he even think about it?

He’s pushing 65. Texas is not a step up in any way; Bama has just as much recruiting power and money. He’s already a legend there. The one smirch on his legacy as a coach is his history of being a job jumper. You’re gonna confirm that image for the chance to go backwards and start all over?

Kickers aren’t usually considered “athletes” in that sense.

I did not that there was not any preparation for a return; I’ve seen other teams in that situation move to set up lanes and force contain. Bama’s players just stood there watching until the guy was at the 30.

I don’t understand how teams like Oregon and Alabama can’t recruit a reliable kicker. I don’t expect them to make 50 yard kicks every time, but some of these guys aren’t reliable inside 40, or even 30. You would think a good freshman kicker would jump at the chance to play for a school that is almost always in the national championship hunt, and they only need one new kicker every four years. Are they really that scarce?

Good kickers are not easy to find. At some schools they don’t offer scholarships to kickers until after their freshman year. Many kickers start out as walkons or just a partial scholarship. In some cases they find soccer kids and covert them to FB.
