It’s not bad, I think its better than seeing “new models” come out of Detriot that don’t look any thing new at all. My 6’4" frame won’t fit too well in that car, other than that I don’t have a problem with it.

This car might be uglier than the Aztek’s, I haven’t decided yet.
That car is called the Toyota bB here in Japan, has been available for a couple of years. I see them on the road fairly often. They usually have clearly visible headlights though, not the Geordi LaForge look shown on the bbX page. There’s also an “Open Deck” version with a tiny exposed luggage space. I don’t think I’ve seen one on the road yet.
The car doesn’t stand out too much in Japan. There are many other sub-compact vans available, and these chunky, boxy shapes look appropriate for crowded Japanese cities. Other examples include the Honda That’s (the car is actually called “That’s”), the Daihatsu Naked and the Nissan Cube. (All links lead to Japanese pages, but I think the photos will still be visible).
In last year’s Tokyo Auto Show there were some extreme concept cars on the box motif. Take a look at theHonda Unibox and theMazda Secret Hideout.
In case you’re wondering, that thing stored inside the door of the Unibox is a folding bicycle. That’s another interesting trend in Japan, marketing folding bikes as car accessories to use at vacation destinations. The Nissan Cube comes standard with a folding bike, and I believe the Honda Step WGN van comes with an electric outlet for charging the Honda Step Compo electric folding bike.
Just flat-out stupidly ugly… They’d have to drop price a long way to sell many of those in the US. They’re at least half again uglier than the Aztek.
At least the ccx from the same site looks like a halfway decent aerodynamic car.
Hey, I kind of like that Vehicross thing. It looks like it’s ready to pounce on something. I’ll bet it would make the econobox in front of you at a light very nervous.
I don’t know what the ugliest car would be, but it was probably built by Volvo.

Honda makes a car called “That’s”? What marketing genius came up with that one? Is their nex production model going to be called “It’s”?

Forty years ago, the only reason you bought an ugly-looking car was because it was really cheap. Nowadays, the only reason you spend a lot of money on a car is because it looks ugly.
::sigh::
I’ll go look at some Shelby’s now, if y’all don’t mind.
What about the 2CV inspired Nissan S-Cargo?
“For when you really NEED to drive a car that looks like a boxer…”
Gad, people! Don’t do that to me! I just ate lunch!
That Scion and that 2CV (or whatever it is that Jeff Olsen found) actually make the Aztek look good. Ouch…
At least you wouldn’t have to worry about anyone stealing the thing…
I thought this thread was going to be about the AMC Pacer.
AMC Pacer, Ford Pinto, and any Hugo’s ever made.
Dear God, nearly all of the American cars in the 70’s qualify, especially anything made by AMC.
-me
Good God! I came in here to post about my first car, a 1978 AMC Spirit. That was ugly, but this new thing’s got it all beat 'holler!
Now, for a new car that I think looks kind of cool, go here.
My eyes! My Eyes! Aaaugh!
I wouldn’t even vomit in this car. It might make my vomit look bad.
There must be some really bad crack flowing around Japan.
When I saw the thread title the first thing that popped into my head was that Lexus turd, but the links you guys have provided have got that beat all over. Though I do like the Secret Hideout.
For an antidote to all of those eyesores, check out the Audi Steppenwolf.
That Steppenwolf looks like it’s all tires, like a battlebot. Deceptively low to the ground for stability. Nice design.
