L_C from looking at the live feed quite a lot I can say that IMO Kate is just doing her stuff in the house. The only one who is 100% playing the game for the games sake is Tim IMO.
One of the things I’ve found interesting through this BB experience is the ‘excuse culture’: Don’t recall a teevee programme where quite so many people seemingly tune in because there’s “nothing else on” etc. Of course, there’s the hard core t-shirt wearing brigade like Yojimbo who remind me of when it was uncool to like Abba but you knew everyone secretly taped a toe and longed to do unmentionable things with the blonde - so many seem to be in some state of social or even personal denial about the allure of BB. Stand up and be proud I say ! (well almost…)
Anyway, it’s all come to a crescendo sooner than I expected and this week the gang of four go head to head. Don’t understand the voting – I keep reading that something over 25 million (27 even, if the hoohah is to be believed) votes will be cast. On the back of a viewing audience of 7-ish million. Assuming about 50% of the regular viewing audience votes (is that reasonable ?), that means people will vote six or seven times each. Something must be wrong with my understanding ?
The other thing that struck me is the shared constituencies, that’s my way of looking at it at the moment. For example, I suspect Alex could be in trouble because he shares too many:
With Kate – girl/boy next door, trendy/matey southern, semi-cool, ‘nice’, reasonably thoughtful…
With Jonny/Johnny – Good lads/decent blokes…
Jonny/Johnny on the other hand – and I’m not sure I’m right about this – may have a significant portion of the cross-constituency northern vote. I don’t think us southern shite think in these terms but I wonder if a lot do oop north still ? I wonder if that has potentially disproportionate significance…
The one who doesn’t seem to share very many constituencies is Jade. She probably has the under 16, maybe 18 vote, as well as the my-friends-don’t-like-fat-spotty-me vote in the bag (I’d hazard she’s been studiously playing to that audience very well in the past week). But I don’t know if Mummy or Daddy will let them make several phone calls…if that’s, in fact, how the voting works…
I suppose I have a provisional guess, but it’s only a guess really, as to who will pick up the cheque…

As for BB3; I think it’s open season. The only thing that’s sure is that Jade won’t get it. Kate is now favourite according to the beeb. Alex is the only seriously funny one, and hence the one who might be fairly charismatic in his new media-oriented career (modelling or presenting?).

I always thought, from the perspective of a male on the cusp of puberty (not the best view of the world…), that the redhead did a better sexual ambiguity look. Something in the way she stared into the blondes eyes…“those easy going Swedes” I thought as I cycled to school with increasing discomfort on the upward pedal motion.

how about the future? Who so you think will be on your screens in the future? Alex being a model will do pretty well IMO. His profile will seriously increase. Out of the rest I can see Sophie doing quite well. She’s already doing a summer spot on RI:SE from Ibiza, Kate could do the SMTV thing quite well. I have a feeling that Jonny will try the hardest and also fail.

GMTV this morning updated their poll 40K+ calls so far and this has Alex at something like 9%.
Their is a large amount of people out there that don’t like Alex at all.
Last night was quite funny. They just gave up on any pretence of following the rules and told everyone else how many times they voted them and why. It was very light hearted and no one got pissed of in the slightest. They also talked about what pissed them of about everyone. This was also taken quite lightly.
And I wouldn’t worry about Jade coming from behind. You’d have plenty of warning. eg. THE MINGER IS COMING TO GET YOU, YOU CHIPSTICK
