The way things were going, you just knew the guys were going to get naked in the shower last night and Jade would just have to join in…I missed the nakedness but the build up had a sense of inevitability about it.
I liked it, really – the way men and women interact in those circumstances: Girls doing the passive “Ooh, noooooo” thing while actually driving the whole ‘event’ along. All very amusing gender dynamics.
So, it’s last minute prediction time, folks !:
It’ll be neck and neck between Alex and Kate (sticking with my earlier prediction of Kate being in the last two).
Jade third, Johnny fourth. I suspect the over-compensatory guilt about Jade has passed its zenith but I wonder if she might have been the winner had the final been a week sooner. I’d rather Alex or Kate win. Last four in order:

Jade doing her Porn music sound was very possibly the most annoying sound I’ve ever heard.
Francesca, it may be sad to be excited, but it’s even sadder to be having a party, as I am, to which yojimbo, Twisty and others are coming. Quick, get on a Ryanair flight and come and join us!
I plan to go home tonight and combine Playstation 2 & Grand Theft Auto 3 with a little bit of “Bottom” or “Spaced” or “Brasseye” on video. I am not even going to look at the new to see the result. Tomorrow morning I will go out to the shops, get a haircut and then – and only then – will I glance sneeringly at Ananova to see who won.
I have a hangover large enough to mug an elephant with. The thought of Jade squawking in triumph fills me with a nameless dread that means I am damn well going to avoid the TV tonight! Besides, I don’t like Davina McCall anyway.
I think I will ring numerous times and vote for Jade, I think it would be the funniest thing ever to see the other housemates faces when Davina announces that Jade has won It would be worth it for that alone
I was channel-hopping at 10pm and caught E4, showing the live house feed with a time delay. I worked out who had gone first.
And then I was hooked.
I watched the 10.30pm eviction. I even thought Davina was entertaining (the whole card-indicating-what-sexual-activies-went-on thing was fun, if a bit cruel). I’m glad the winner was who it was; both of the finalists came across as fairly genuine, nice people (warts and all, but nobody’s perfect), and I had really disliked the runner-up initially.
(apologies for being vague, but I don’t want to post spoilers just to be on the safe side, and that bloody spoiler tag doesn’t work for the Opera browser)
The only downside was the booing of you-know-who on the podium at the end. I really, really dislike her and her willful anti-intellectualism (proud of not knowing stuff), but I don’t want to see her destroyed by a fucking stupid, nasty public. Let her slide back into happy obscurity, please.
Also: the number of banners in the crowd saying “pick me for BB4!” was worrying. I don’t want publicity whores there.
Will the show be renewed? The viewing figures are good, but it’s been critically slated (cf ‘The Guardian’ and even ‘The Mirror’), and apparently Endemol has been furious with C4’s handling of the sleazier moments. Could they refuse C4 the right to stage it next year?
Wasn’t the booing because you-know-who was on the stage at the same time as the lovely Tim?
I’m glad the winner was who it was, too, if forced I may even admit to voting for that person. I’m glad the two left in the house to choose a winner from were the two that were left in and not the other two! If that makes sense.
I was really cross with the crowd for boo-ing Tim. Poor form on their part.
I’m pleased a woman won, but I was disappointed that the final two were the two most bland characters. I have to admit I was suprised that Jade and Alex were fourth and third. I expected Alex to get at least second. Kate did look well happy though.
Did you notice how they engineered it so that before the evictions they spoke to all the families but got Graham Norton (and did anyone else notice he looked totally coked up?) to speak for Jade? I think that was a cunning move on the part of the producers to keep Jade’s mum from being too embarressing.
I had totally turned to Jade by the time the show started. Just reckoned it would be great TV. The lass did well when she left and from the press coverage after it seems she may be on her way to making a good few bob.
I’m kinda glad that Alex didn’t win it afterall as he was so uptight when he left. Don’t think he would have given a shit about it.
Good series. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next one.
It would be worth it for that alone
