UK dopers. What is the name of that strange french cartoon that played at christmas?

In the bit I saw it had some people riding biked in front of a screen on which was projected a film of moving through streets.

Then the contraption started moving and they were actually riding through the streets (still with the screen in front of them)

Actually they do but it’s called “Triplets of Belleville” and it’s Region 1.
They also have something called “Belleville Rendez-vous” which looks like the same cartoon style. Is that a sequel or something?

Now this is confusing. They seem to be the same film (they have exactly the same synopsis on Amazon, but different covers and name, obviously)

They are the same film - it was released as “Belleville Rendez-vous” in the UK and “The Triplets of Belleville” in the US. I don’t know what they originally called it in France.

And Lordy yes, it was a strange film. The bit you saw was near the very end of the film.

I wasn’t sure whether to get it (Belleville Rendez vous) but now I know I can. (amazon.co.uk have it, and it’s the correct region and not third-party seller. the other one, Les triplets de belleville was the wrong region and third-party)
