Is there a simple way to find products that are UL listed? I’m looking for a surge suppressor and the consensus seems to be that you should buy one that is “UL 1449 2nd Edition listed” at a minimum. The problem is that very few products seem to state that in their sales literature. According to some things that I’ve read, many companies try to imply that they are UL listed without actually going through the process and submitting a product to the UL for testing. They say things like “UL 1449 compliant” or other weasel words. Some are reported to just counterfeit the UL mark.
Not sure if this is what you’re looking for. Login I’ve searched a few items in there and they show the results of the testing as well as the UL category code, I wasn’t able to search by code though when I tried it. The option is there but nothing came up, when I searched for surge suppressors though it worked well.
