UL? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, it's hilarious.

My wife goes to school with a girl who claimed this happened to her cousin (yeah, I know. Smacks of UL already, right?).

The girl’s cousin was getting married. He stood up in front of the crowd to speak.

“I just want to thank you all very much for coming today. We’ll probably be in a hurry to get off to our honeymoon and I won’t be able to thank you all personally, so if you’ll just look under your seats, you’ll find a personalized letter of thanks.”

Under every seat in the church was a picture of the bride-to-be in bed with the best man.

The groom promptly walked out of the church and out of his fiance’s life forever.

Of course, I know this can’t be proven or disproven. I’m just wondering if anyone has heard a similar story. I’d really like this one to be true. It’s so good that it makes me want to stand up and cheer.

I’ve had this emailed to me quite a number of times. The best version is the long, detailed one where the wedding is huge, elaborate and very expensive and it makes the point that the groom went through with it to ensure the bride was embarrassed and no-one was left in doubt that the fault was hers…

Yep, this reeks of UL but it’s a fun story nonetheless.

And it always ends with:

“This is his world. We just live in it.”

Well, here is a link from snopes.com

Looks like it’s a big fat UL. Better luck next time.

Bah. That’s what I figured. I knew it was too good to be true. Oh well.
