Ah. Mushroomstamping. AKA “mushroom tattoo”.
‘To ball’ definitely meant ‘to have intercourse with’ in the '70s and '80s.
I remember a joke: A woman calls a psychiatrist. ‘Doctor, you have to help my daughter. She wants to lose her hair!’ The psychiatrist asks how she knows. ‘I heard her on the phone when she was talking to a friend. She said she wanted to get bald soon!’
Of course a ball is also a fancy party. This leads to ‘having a ball’, and ‘to ball’, which means ‘to have a good time’. Good golly, Miss Molly! Well, you sure like to ball… And then there’s A Cool Christmas, which has the line ‘And with that red nose he looked like a baller.’
Well, poodle balling means trimming your poodle’s fur into a ball or pom-pom. In horticulture it means doing the same thing to a topiary. I think the writers just thought is sounded naughty.
Now it’s up to us to come up with a good definition, ex post facto.
Agreed. If I were to be pressed to come up with a definition, it’d include using spooge to style the gal’s hair…possibly after a good, old-fashioned skunkin’.
I’ve…uhh…heard that it makes a decent conditioner.
It always meant “fucking” when I was a teenager. Isn’t there a song lyric that uses the term? Damn…It’s hell getting old and senile.
“Loose Lucy is my delight
She comes runnin’ and we ball all night.”
-Grateful Dead, Loose Lucy
That’s the first one that came to mind, but I’m sure there are tons of others.
Thank you! Geezers rule!
Come over here so I can whack you with my cane!
::grumbles::
Damn kids today have no respect at all, I tell ya!
OK … I give. I thought this would be a relatively easy one to find, but of course everyone on here knows about urbandictionary.com too :smack:
Didn’t find anything about the two words together, and I’d think that it was a sexual reference (since all the rest of them are). However, the dictionary gives a number of “near miss” choices.
“Gettin’ some poodle” is my best shot - which is sexual intercourse with a “rich, stuck-up, and/or white bitch”. Sounds vaguely like Karen to me
A close second is that poodle also allegedly means, er, feminine nether-regions.
Otherwise, feminine acting males? posers? (though I can’t see Karen hangin’ with many posers)
So, hell if I know but worth a shot.
I can say “geezer” cuz I IS a geezer. Ya whippersnapper!
I’ve found that there’s a song called “Let me play with your poodle.” I’m convinced this is the key to cracking this whole mystery wide-open.
However, I can’t find the lyrics.
Perhaps poodle balling is related to the dreaded rear admiral.
Why should it mean anything other than having fun with your lapdog?
I like this definition the best so far. Sort of like how little kids use their shampoo to give themselves a mohawk, except dirty.
As I said, I fully agree that the word likely had a different definition “back in the day,” but coming out of 22 (er, maybe 23?) year old Britney’s mouth, I’m inclined to believe it would be writtein the more modern aspect.
Perhaps we should contact Kevin Federline. Oh! Or maybe the pavorattis that are always chasing him? Surely one of them will know, seeing that Kevin is the bastion of hip hop lingo that he is.
He’s being chased by opera tenors? :dubious:
(I think you meant Paparazzi)
No, my little friend. I was quoting the greatest lyricist of our time: Kevin Federline. Le Cite :
Don’t let the grey beard fool you - I’m only 30.
