Oh, and Raygun99: I love the World Factbook! Does anyone else think “I Wanna Be A Geographer For The CIA” would make a great punk song? Maybe by the Ramones…nah, a little too highbrow. Bad Religion? Nah, too silly. How about Voodoo Glow Skulls? Or Down By Law?
Yeah, a geography geek like myself can’t really get enough of that site. I love the fact that they have listings for various rocky outcroppings in the South Pacific.
Tengu hit it on the head. Y’all are insane, you know that, right?
LindyHopper, Les and Ann just happen to be on their way to your great state to do some fishing - which means I may take you up on your offer.
And in case you missed it, Les and Ann are GONE. She made one last incredibly stupid assertion at dinner Sunday night (too long and involved to go into here) and Monday they pulled up stakes and left.
Peace ! And I’ll even suggest that your triple point is more significant geographically. The only reason I brought up the iron range point is because I passed it once on my way from Wiinnipeg to Detroit, and considering that I recognized that chique was from that state and considering her OP, I thought mentioning it was apropos to her point regarding rivers running north or south. After all it is not widely known but there actually is a continental divide between the Arctic and the Gulf/Atlantic from your tripple point to Minnesota’s, sepatating north flowing and south flowing continental drainage systems.
That’s true; I’d never even heard of it before 10 years ago or so. I’ve never been able to find a map that shows exactly where that divide is. You know of any?
Yeah, I know. I’m way too much of a geography geek not to get into these kinds of discussions, though.
