Unabomber (Ted Kaczynski) question

I watched a short story about Ted Kaczynski today. After his brother pointed the FBI towards him they moved in on his land. It was not well protected and his cabin had all of his bomb making stuff in it. All of the stuff that convicted him. Surprising really considering the pains he took to not get caught in the first place. I guess he assumed he wouldn’t get found out.

Anyway, seeing how he was so careful to conceal his identity in his bombs and letters, what if he had done the same with his raw materials. Suppose for example he had an underground cellar (away from his residence) where he kept all of the terrorist parts of his life. Without all of the damning stuff in his cabin would they still have been able convict him?
ETA: maybe this should have been posted in IMHO…

They didn’t convict him, he pled guilty.

Could they have convicted him if the contents of the cabin were never found? It’s a matter of speculation, but I think yes. They could make a circumstantial case that put him in the vicinity of crime scenes, and they could link the manifesto to his other writings. I believe there was also DNA evidence from one or two of his bombs, and one had a partial fingerprint.

But that’s also based on the premise that Kaczynski would deny his guilt, which seems unlikely to me.
