Uncoupled on Netflix (Spoilers After OP)

Yesterday afternoon I stumbled across Uncoupled, an 8-episode show on Netflix starring Neil Patrick Harris, Tisha Campbell, and Marcia Gay Harden. It was just released on Friday (7/29). NPH plays an NYC realtor in his mid-to-late 40s whose 50-year-old partner suddenly leaves him after 17 years.

It was co-written/co-created by Darren Star, of Sex and the City, and that show is exactly what it felt like to me. Even some of the music was reminiscent. I love NPH, the cast and acting were great, and the half-hour episodes were entertaining enough – I binge-watched the whole season – but there wasn’t really anything new or particularly compelling. It really did feel a lot like a gay S&TC. I’m not sure whether I’ll care enough to watch S2, if/when there is one.

Has anyone else seen this yet?

Note: Because the entire season is available, OPEN SPOILERS are allowed beyond this point!
