Undescended Testicle and Fertility

Not sure if MPSIMS is the right forum but this question doesn’t feel weighty enough for GQ.

So my son had an undescended testicle. He had a orchiopexy and all went well. He seems to have recovered very well and indeed is moving (crawling) around a lot better.

My question is this, will this procedure affect his fertility? Put another way, does he now have reduced odds of being able to reproduce? I’ve done some research online but I wouldn’t very much like the opinions/thoughts of fellow Dopers.

Thanks.

You only need one testicle to make a baby. Uniballers have just an easy time making babies as we regular diploballers, and your baby’s closer to the second category than the first, so I wouldn’t worry.

Medical questions go in IMHO; I’ll move this thither for you.

I concur. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks.

And thank you guys for allaying my concerns. First time father and all that.

I had the same done as a child, I’ve got two healthy boys now, just for the record.

MrPanda had the same thing done and sired PandaKid. Your little boy will be fine

As a paranoid first time Dad, I really appreciate the responses!
