unholy food combinations (a poll)

Oh, Cheetos dipped in chocolate milk, and a glass of half Diet Coke half milk.

This is what my brother combines:

once we went to a restaurant, and my brother and his friend put the following things in a cup, and left it on the table for the waitress to see: water, veggie pieces, pepper, coffee, salt, a bay leaf, borscht, milk, sugar, tea, napkin pieces, butter, and ice

then there was the time he put spaghetti, mustard and other assorted condiments on a plate and proceeded to eat it

at the same party, he decided to combine tomato rice, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and bbq sauce; of course, he ate it…
one of his friends wanted me to tell him when it was all done so he could look at him again… poor guy!

since my bro doesn’t like salad dressing, guess what he uses instead? Coke! (or any other suitable soft drinks available)… salad swimming in Coke… mmm…

at a BBQ, he put a weiner, assorted condiments, tapioca bubble tea pearls, and Triscuits in a hot dog – he ate it, of course

he had a haggis party once, and decided to make a puree out of it with orange juice and Coke (and also put haggis on toast with marmalade; the marmalade made it taste better… I know, I tried it)
Me, I don’t really have any unholy combinations that I swear by… though chocolate chip cookies and salsa aren’t that bad.

Going back to Amp’s post a friend used to eat peanut butter and pickle sandwiches that he grilled(just like grilled cheese). Worst smell ever and I never got the guts to try it.

Peanut butter and bacon sandwiches. Bacon goes straight from the pan to the sandwich. Great.

My Husband: French dressing on a fried egg.

My Son: Toasted peanut butter & cheese sandwich.

My Nephew: Pancakes with melted cheese.

My Mom: Pieces of cornbread soaked in a glass of buttermilk

Me: Hershey’s kisses and plain potato chips

I would never have any odd combinations. Really, I promise. I’m completely normal, not like you freaks.

One of my older brothers, though, used to eat chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup and powdered Tang. He loved it and would have it every chance he got.

Try adding jelly to the peanut butter with mayonnaise!

Does anyone else here put mayonnaise on corn-on-the-cob instead of butter? That’s the way I was brought up but nobody else that I’ve know has tried it. I got my husband to try it and I’ve converted him.

My ex used to break up a bar of milk chocolate and mix it in with cheese and onion crisps (potato chips).

Honey and chicken is a great combination TVeblen! Wendy’s used to have honey to serve with nuggets… mmmm Oh Oh try honey and BBQ mixed together, then dip/crizzle on the chickie! YUM!

zweisamkeit - the peanut butter and mayo is close to what my hubby turned me on to. Add cheddar cheese to that and swap the mayo for Miracle Whip (salad cream) and you have the scrummiest sarnie ever!

You oughtta get your son to try this too, hillbilly queen since he likes the peanut butter and cheddar part.

It really is lovely!

Personally, I also like to drizzle a bit of honey in my bowl of beans n hamhocks, then crumble up my cornbread in the bowl as well. Doritos or Cheese Balls on a bologna or peanut butter sarnies is good. There are probably all sorts of weird things I eat, but cos I consider them normal, 't’aint weird to me.

Whenever I’m in McDonald’s - not often ever since I decided it was the eaterie of Satan - and get one of those little vanilla ice-cream cones, I always end up dipping fries into it. Sublime.

And there’s making an ordinary salad, with cucumber and tomato slices, and chunks of carrot and peppers and sliced onions, covered in salt, pepper and lemon juice, with apples.

It’s the apples that freak people out.

Know what’s great? If you have the patience buy some melting chocolate, melt it and dip the plain chips in it. That is the absolute best.

Some things that weird out my friends:

Salad dressing on potatoes (think creamy dressings like cucumber, ceaser or ranch)

Molasses on biscuits (fresh from the oven… nummy)

Syrup sandwiches (regular syrup on white bread)

And strangely enough, I weirded friends out by mentioning one time that mincemeat is really meat. At least the recipe my Mom and Nanna always uses has meat in it.

It does sound a bit odd jjimm but also intriguing.

Have you ever tried choccie (M&Ms or just choccie) mixed in with salted popcorn? The combination is… WOW.

I’ve never thought of these things as odd but I get a lot of eew when I do it so:

A bowl of popcorn filled with M&M’s

Cheeseburgers topped with potato stix

My shepard’s pie is (from bottom up) hamburger corn mashed potatoes spaghettios and cheese.

Spaghetti sandwiches!!

This is the first time I ever read a thread about food and wound up less hungry than when I started.

Closest thing I have to a weird food combination was pickled jalapeno peppers and fried chicken.

It sounds a bit like those chocolate-covered pretzels, which I love, so I’m gonna try (when I’m back on carbs).

I have that combo (and more) every time I eat fajitas.

My son (bless his pointed little head) ate peanut butter and baloney sandwiches when he was very small. I wretched just looking at it. I raised him to have varied tastes in food, but this was a bit over the top!

When I was in college I had a friend that attended the associated seminary. During some all-night study sessions we would raid the kitchen and have meatloaf with chocolate pudding. Haven’t had it since, but maybe next time I make meat loaf I’ll try to remember to get some pudding to go with it.

Washte, I’m trying to imagine what Miracle Whip & peanut butter taste like together, but I can’t. In the past I’ve had peanut butter sandwiches with bacon, honey and bananas (not necessarily all at the same time); for some reason I’ve lost my taste for peanut butter & jelly. I’ve never tried grilled cheese & peanut butter sandwiches (although I have had grilled cheese and ham or salami) but maybe this weekend I’ll give it a try.

I have never had the patience to grind ritz crackers fine enough to cut my coke with it. Plus snorting all that salt up the nose has GOT to hurt.

But hey to each their own right?

Oh, and an ex of mine…

She used to like to go to White Castle and eat the little hamburgers, but instead of drinking soda like a normal person, she’d always order a carton of milk and drink that. WTF?!? Milk and White Castle hamburgers? What could possibly have been appealing about that combination? She didn’t drink milk at McDonald’s or Wendy’s or Burger King, but she had to have milk at White Castle with her little tiny hamburgers. Why, God? Whyyyyyyyy?!?!?

Oh my god … whitecastle!

When I was in college I went on a trip to Atlantic City with the bowling team over Christmas break. Our coach wanted to take us for the “best hamburger ever” and so we went to whitecastle…

I have never been so sick from a cheeseburger in my life… imagine that on a 7 hour van ride with 15 people as we go home…

I get back to the dorm and tell my BF (now hubby) all about it… his first words? Did you bring me any hamburgers?

Guess we all have different tastes
