unholy food combinations (a poll)

I’m here with ya Buddy. I was once kicked out of a communal diningroom for this sammich. Kinda hypocratical for folks who were putting potatoe chips on thier tuna no?

Chocolate pudding Jelly Bellies with Popcorn.
Discovered at the movies by my Niece. Tastes like chocolate cookies, but better because of the corn flavor.
And let’s not forget the perennial favorite, french fries and a Frosty from wendy’s.

My husband ALWAYS drinks milk with chinese food. Oh the looks he gets from waiters!!

Me? Fresh hot popcorn in milk, and I eat it with a spoon.

Neat fact - no matter how much popcorn you add to a glass of milk - the milk level won’t change. The popcorn spills out before the milk will.

Yep, odd

I can see my arteries hardening, just from reading this thread… peanut butter and mayo? Yikes almighty.

For me, it was French’s Mustard and sugar sandwiches.

What I had for brunch today made the hubby dry-heave. I thought it was quite tastey. You see, I’ve been craving red bell peppers lately. I’ve never ever like any kind of pepper before so this is really weird for me.

Anyway, made up some tuna (pickle, onion, TBS mayo, tsp salad cream, tsp English mustard) and made a sarnie on toast with a fresh sliced mushroom. The rest went into a red bell pepper and a dash of paprika on top.

Hubby’s jaw dropped and he turned a funky shade of green

I hope you enjoy the peanut butter, Miracle Whip and cheddar sarnie LurkMeister. It does sound strange but it is good.

Chocolate chip cookies dipped in Guiness. Yummm…

Pinto Beans, the dried kind you soak overnight then cook, and Cabbage. Unholiest of unholies. Have you rooting and tooting for days.won’t do that again

Hmm… I must be a freak of nature, 'cause most of these things sound yummy to me. Seriously, my mouth is watering.

One of my favorite treats (and so easy to make) : A slab of (raw) firm tofu in a bowl with cold marinara sauce drizzled over it. Deeeelicious.

:frowning:

You are not alone. I like those too except I also put lettuce on the sandwich. I have eaten those for many years. I also prefer Miracle Whip to mayo on these babies.

I just thought of one I did by accident, and will NEVER do again. I was at the family Christmas thing, eating mint hershey’s kisses, and while my mouth was still coated with mint chocolate goodness, for some ungodly reason I popped a black olive in there! I don’t even like olives by themselves.

Here’s a combo that you will swear at instead of swear by.

Dill pickle and pineapple. Foulest taste combination I’ve eaver eaten. Take the taste of orange juice right after you’ve brushed your teeth, and multiply the gross by a factor of 10.

While watching Gladiator in the theater, I stumbled upon Popcorn & Reeses Pieces. Put a couple pieces of each in your mouth… yummy!

I even tried to make peanut butter flavored popcorn at home afterwords, but it didn’t work :frowning:

Once, and I don’t even know why, I put whipped cream (the kind out of a can) on my Totino’s sausage pizza. I loved it. My mom saw me, though (I was about ten at the time), and thought it was so weird she forbid me to do that ever again.

Maybe someday I’ll try it again…

My mom says that as a kid I’d dip my Oreos in mustard. I have no memory of this…really!

Peanut butter, banana and mayonaise. The peanut butter and banana are natural together, and the mayonaise gives the whole thing a little tang. Just the idea of it freaks people out.

zweisamkeit and Washte:
All right, you talked me into it. When I got home I made myself a peanut butter and Miracle Whip sandwich.

It was good!!

It wasn’t till after I finished it that I remembered about the cheddar and banana (both of which I have on hand). Well, I’ll save that for later.

:sniff sniff: At last, I’ve found others who share the joy of my sandwiches! [sub]Although I, personally, can’t stand Miracle Whip, it’s okay. The spirit is the same![/sub]

honestly folks, i find none of your combinations weird, strange or out there…I mix everything i eat together in a bowl…i hate eating anything on a plate, it’s just dumb…my wife hates it, she has to seperate her food…i’d rather mix it and enjoy the taste…i usually put honey on everything i eat…that is, unless we go out to eat and i then abide by the rules and mores of our culture…

Everyone I’ve met here (New Zealand) finds fruit cake and chedder cheese weird but it’s a natural in Yorkshire, England. Jam and Cheese are fine and personal favourite a pie sandwich with mayonnaise tends to make people look at me funny. I’ve now successfully introduced my five year old to the joys of (insert food product here) + mayonnaise and soy sauce. Ah, the delights of accessorising food…

I like to dip grape-flavored jelly candies in dark chocolate. My favorite candy is chocolate, and my favorite fruit flavor is grape, so it seems like a logical combination to me. My mother thinks it’s weird, though. I also like to dip cherry, orange, lemon, and lime flavored jelly candies in vanilla-flavored candy coating.

Butter and sugar sandwiches.
Heinz 57 on french fries.
Milk on ice, with Hot-n-Sour soup.
Soupy beans over pound cake.
Molasses, grits, onions and crumbled bacon.
Lumpy mashed potatoes, with chopped tomatoes, green onions, and ranch dressing.
