What am I excusing?
And yet your first instinct, evidenced by multiple subsequent posts, was to give self-described nazis the benefit of the doubt.
It seems unlikely that it’s just me that questions why you would defend the indefensible so reflexively and persistently.
I do not expect but would appreciate an honest and self-aware response that doesn’t use “but freedom of speech!” as an excuse for instinctively defending fascists, racists and various related vermin.
The horseshoe stuff – who is similar to white supremacists and nazis? Why can’t they just be all alone out there, worse than everyone else (when they obviously are)?
Right wing excesses, by comparing them to liberal activists.
How does thinking that extremists on the left and right are similar to each other excuse right wing excesses?
The guy in Dallas that shot a dozen cops because he hated white people would be one example.
One of these things is not like the other. Also, cite that the shooter was a left wing activist and that his actions were endorsed by the left.

Prince Harry says “Hi.”
I’d like to see a link to a single person in these current threads defending Nazism. Your statement is very inaccurate.
Holy shit, Prince Harry attended a white supremacist rally dressed as a Nazi?
No, he didn’t. Please stop being so intellectually dishonest. We’re clearly talking about bearing Nazi imagery in the specific context of a white supremacist event.
How do you rank the ideologies that produce Mao, Stalin, and Hitler in any form of bad, worse, or worst? I think they are pretty close to tied for worst.
Not all Germans were Nazis or actively supported fascism. Some simply stood by in silence and let it happen.
When is Hannity finally going to go through with his promise to get himself waterboarded to prove it isn’t torture?
You know, I’ve spent alot of time on the webs looking at pics and reading articles about the Charlottesville mess and I have not seen any Nazi regalia. These groupsare not Nazis. They are American white nationalists. They may turn out to be just as awful (or worse) as the Nazis. But they are not the same.
That’s irrelevant and a misdirection. Who here is as Siam Sam is claiming, supporting Nazism?
Many got threatened into submission, by the sight of opponents getting beaten or killed by their thug gangs, or by loss of livelihood when done by the local gauleiter. It’s not as easy to criticize them for inaction when the alternative was death.
I took a quick look through Sailboat’s posting history. Unless he married someone much younger, it is not likely that he has a 32yo wife. For example, there are a couple of posts where he refers to incidents that happened to him 20 years ago where the context indicated he was a self sufficient adult at the time.
Your argument is to compare some of the worst totalitarian regimes and ask which is worse? In service of what?
Is this your clever attempt to argue that since Stalin and Hitler were bitter enemies therefore the two ideologies represent the current American politics of the left and the right?
Try googling ‘‘Nazi regalia Charlottesville’’ and see what you come up with.
The whole point of ‘‘Unite the Right’’ was to bring Nazis and American White Nationalists together. Though it does appear there are more confederate flags than Nazi ones, the Nazi ones are there.
That’s not even clever.
