"Unite the Right" white nationalist march: Ugliness on full display.

You can’t have tried very hard.

That doesn’t have anything to do with yesterday, though, and there was no reticence in liberal politicians denouncing him. Further, he didn’t have a “kill cops and/or white people” movement/rally behind him.

Please find the quotes of people defending Nazism.

Is Prince Harry advocating genocide?

Only one of them has any sort of significant following in the US, with regular marches and rallies attended by hundreds or thousands, and multiple organizations that (until recently, at least) were closely monitored by the justice department because they’ve got such a history of domestic terrorism.

He was being an incredible asshole, and he was fine with wearing symbols that are reasonably seen as advocating genocide, and he rightly apologized for it. If all these assholes from yesterday give truly sincere apologies, then I might start to think they have a small chance of being contributing members of society.

You can move the goal posts all you like. What I was addressing is your post asking for relative comparison of fascist and communist totalitarianism. Your reasons for asking are not entirely clear to me.

Sure he does. “What do we want? DEAD COPS! When do we want it? NOW!” It’s not a very big movement, and it’s despicable, but he wasn’t the only one in the country to espouse such an awful ideology.

You both found the same pic of one guy, I saw it as well. . .and?

What’s this movement called? A few assholes chanting doesn’t make a movement. A movement has regular rallies, organizations (like the KKK and allies), publications, large websites like Stormfront, and the like.

Wait. There are no left leaning organizations that are violent in cities such as Portland, Seattle, or Berkeley? Do I need to link a multitude of videos and photos showing the bloody aftermath and the destroyed property? Nazism is bad but it’s not standing alone on the dung heap of terrible ideologies as the pinnacle.

A lot of people don’t realize that this was not the first time this crowd flocked to Charlottesville to display their ignorance. In May, the memorable chant from the torch-bearing crowd was “Russia is our friend!”

God, this is so predictable.

“Lookit them anti-Nazi protesters! They are antifa hoodlums who are equally responsible for violence! Oh, and those guys holding shields and shouting racist slogans? Well, we don’t KNOW that they are racist… why, those SS signs might just mean they are fans of famous Jews like Steven Spielberg or Sarah Silverman! We might never know the truth. And just because they all have their right hands pointed up doesn’t mean it is a Nazi salute, they might just be all pointing at something! But if you’re a Democrat, it’s a lock that you love Malcolm X, Che, and Mao. The only thing important here is that some things just happen, and who can really know why?”

You said you saw no Nazi regalia at this event, so people showed you a picture of Nazi regalia at the event. Now you’ve seen a picture of Nazi regalia at the event.

That’s basically it.

FWIW, there is no ethical distinction, for me, between a Nazi flag at a white supremacist rally and a confederate flag at a white supremacist rally. But I suppose with all this emphasis on Nazis we shouldn’t leave out the fact that the KKK were there, too.

…and thus moral relativism rears its predictably ugly head.

Surprised it took this long.

There is a reason Nazism holds a unique place in modern history of crimes against humanity. But hey, don’t let that stop your pathetic attempt to equivocate.

JFC.

I think it is. I use “which ideology would exterminate large segments of the population if it came to power” as the tiebreaker.

“Ovens” – they’ll be making some bread later.
“Final solution” – they’re done with their math homework.

The NY Times article linked to by Siam Sam in post 354 indicates that the deceased wasn’t married.

I’m so sorry. I hope your wife recovers fully.

Explain how that is moral relativism? And please explain how the crimes of Hitler are uniquely bad when compared with Stalin, Mao, etc. I bet you can’t other than more misdirection, more goal post shifting, and more ad hominems.

this really sums it up for me
