I know this board in not the place to be seeking medical advice, but I was hoping some here might suggest possibilities, I could bring up with my dentist.
I am experiencing secretions of mucous like material from behind my lower front teeth. When I create suction I am able to pull more of the substance from behind my front teeth, especially my left front lower incisor. The taste/sensation in constant. I chew sugarless gum to try and distract myself from it. I have had this condition for approximately one year. I have seen and been seeing a dentist and when I first asked him about it almost a year ago he told me I had no reason to worry about having periodontal disease and that my gums were as healthy as his. He thought that crowning a tooth might end the phenomenon but it did not. He now thinks that removing my wisdom teeth will solve my problem, but I am skeptical that a secretion emanation from the front of my mouth could be related to wisdom teeth. He prescribed a medicated oral rinse, (Chlorhexidne Gluconate), which he believed might help but it has not. I must admit to being so desperate to end this condition that I have been filling insulin needles with the rinse, pushing it down between my tooth and gum behind my lower front canine and cleansing that area. I know this sounds dreadful, but the interesting thing is that I am able to push the needle impressively far under the gum-line, maybe 4mm, without discomfort until I inject the solution. When I experimented behind another tooth with this technique I immediately felt pain and desisted. It seems to be the case that the gum socket behind my offending tooth-area is loose. That is, it does not cling to my tooth as tightly as my gums cling to my other teeth, on the insides of the teeth. My gums are sore after I wash them in this way, and as it does not seem to help I have given up trying to treat myself in this way. Any ideas on what my condition is? Any ideas or advice?
