Unofficial Spring 2008 Finals Stress Relief Thread

I didn’t see one yet, so I thought I would open a thread for those of us in the midst of Finals. Close your textbooks and put down your notes for a moment, and breath! Pour yourself another cup of coffee, or grab an icy Red Bull from the cooler, take a seat in the beanbag chair, and vent away your stresses about the tests. Or, if you are already done with finals, celebrate your success and dream of summer!

I only have three finals tests this week, and the first was this morning…
Art History - Our recitation instructor was very generous with a few study “tips” last week, so I think I did well on the multiple choice portion. We got the essay prompt early, so I stayed up last night till 2AM outlining and memorizing things. As a result, I think I nailed it. I went into the test with a C+/B-, so I’m sure I earned a solid B. There was enough extra credit on the multiple choice, though, to pull off an A for the course, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Social Factors in Environmental Design - Test is Wednesday morning. Like the Art History final, I already have the essay prompt. I will plan it out tomorrow, and review my notes, but I am not too worried. I am coming in to the test with an A, so hopefully I can maintain that.

Calculus I - The test is Wednesday night. Same format as the three midterms, which I scored 92, 100, and 100. Part of me really wants to Ace the last one, so I can gloat, about three straight perfect scores, But if I simply pass this test, I will finish with an A.

Intro to Environmental Design - There was no traditional final, just another take home test. But, this class is really two classes: The lectures were all about the history and philosophy of architecture, and the lab was a design studio. My final studio project was due last Thursday, and I think I did well enough to guarantee a B. I don’t think an A is possible, but I can hope.

So, How about all of you Scholarly dopers out there? How are finals going? Sorry for setting the bar so high, I won’t be judging you.

Just finished Constitutional Law. Standard law school set up, closed book, 2 questions, mandatory curve, 100% of my grade, fun fun fun. I hate the Constitution, and I hate “smurfy.”

Employment Discrimination wednesday, then I’m done.

I had two finals today, and that’s it for the semester. Botany and Microbiology.

Envy me. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m an art major so it’s not like I have ‘finals’ per se (especially this semester), but I’m two-thirds done with my last project. I’m actually holding off on finishing it so the teacher doesn’t get suspicious. I really want to be done before next weekend so I can go to Ojai RenFaire. I know I got As on my other projects so my only worry is the weekly sketches. I think I’ve done enough, but I’m a bit anxious about that.

I am 28 pages into a 90-100 page public policy analysis due Wednesday afternoon. Other than that I have it licked, and the paper is mostly experimental design so it’ll go quickly.

I remember not so long ago how stressed out I was about my semester. Well, this public policy analysis class is still kicking my ass, but I think I can pull out a C, and barring absolute catastrophe on my music final (as in 20% or worse) I’ll make it out of this semester with my skin, still on track to graduate in December.

I will say this, though: come Wednesday I’m going to bed and not waking up for the next two days except to use the can. I’m burnt out.

I only have 2 finals this semester. Other classes were final papers due last week or optional finals, but I had A’s already.

Tomorrow morning at 745am (ugh right?) is History and Systems of Psychology. I wasn’t too sure on how to study for this one. We had a timeline in the class going from Aristotle/Plato to now in terms of the development of psychology. We referred to it a bit but mainly worked through the notes. I guess we’re just supposed to know the empiricist, rationalist, and existential threads throughout time. I’ve done well so far in class, just unsure how he’s gonna ask the questions on this one. We shall see in 10 hours.

Thursday I just have my final test in Health Psychology. No offense if this is anyone’s passion or career, but I find it boring. I’ll be spending tomorrow reading the chapters over and over.

Then I graduate Saturday. Too bad I’m not actually done though. Summer class plus another year of undergrad stuff to prepare for graduate school.
