I believe that when a heroin addict has a fatal overdose, s/he has probably done their (former) families, (former) friends, society in general, and last of all themselves a huge favor in the long run. The chances that they will get and stay clean and become respectable, upstanding citizens again, if they ever were, are minuscule.
