Unpopular or unorthodox views you hold

  1. Not all wrestling fans are morons
  2. Not all rich people have fake friends, no love for each other, bad family life, bad social lives etc.
  3. Many (dont want to say most) black people are racist towards white people, and they have no right to be
  4. I believe in White Pride
  5. I believe in Straight Pride
  6. I dont believe in Minority groups having their own events, functions to the extent that they do (Gay Olympics…)
  7. Movies about wrestling cant be made, if they are made accurately, 80-95% of people wouldnt like them, because they wouldnt understand whats going on. If they are made for hte 80-95% of people, then the real wrestling fans would think its bullshit.
  8. People are too sensitive Nowadays.

And now some comments

  • People with more than $1 Million should have it confiscated?? What for, its their money and they earnd it.
hmm… thats the only major one i can remember.

Now, give me your comments.

Yoko can go screw.

I do, however, believe this thread is doomed to Pit-dom.
(but it has worth because it dragged me back from lurkerdom – now watch me slip away like the night)

[sub]Christ, it’s early[/sub]

I think it should be okay to laugh at anything you want, such as drooling retard windowlickers, or fat dykes who wear short shirts and their rolls of fat sort of bulge out over their 3/4 length pants.

I believe there should be no such thing as censorship, or even ‘classification’ as it stands legally. Recommend all you like, you scummy codswallopers, but don’t deny people the right to do what they want to do.

Fine, comments (bear in mind, this isn’t the Pit (yet) and I’m being nice).

Yes, there are some black people who are racist. You claim they “don’t have the right to be”. You then follow that statement with a racist statement – that White Pride (which is racist, rationalize it all you’d like) is acceptable.

Where do you get your right to be a racist that isn’t allowed a black person?

It took a while to stop laughing at that one, that’s why it’s taken me so long to post.

I think socialized medicine is worth the extra in taxes (though it’s far less than you think)

I think that people who’ve not walked in my shoes have very little right to judge me.

I think that the US is getting to be really scary!

I think that people who do not show that they can be responsible parents should be prevented from having further children. Yes, I know this is not something that would be easy to monitor. Once the irresponsible parents (I’m talking about parents who abuse their children, neglect them in abusive ways and are unable to provide them food, shelter and education at a minimum level) get their acts together, they can have their kids back on a provisional basis. Having children is a privelege, not a right.

I think that parents are way too focused on buying stuff for their kids instead of spending time with them.

I think that when two people with children divorce, that both parents should live as close as possible to the children and shouldn’t put their new relationships/children before their pre-existing ones.

Yeah, we’re just rolling in the dough, let me tell you.

Maybe if teachers made a little more money, one could have explained the difference between “to” and “too” to you.

Running back to lurkerdom with Jack Batty.
Jack, is it too early for a beer? My treat.

I’d like to invite you to my Kindergarten classrom sometime. You’d have a ball. Moron.

Teachers make way too much money? That would be then why there are teachers in California (and, for all I know, many other states) pulling in well over $30K a year and living in subsidized housing.

I think the Dakotas have the lowest average elementary school salary at (figure from 5 years ago at most) 17K/yr.

You want to argue that tenured college profs make too much money? You might have some hope of surviving in that debate. But the idea that, for example, K-6 teachers make too much money isn’t supported by any fact on either side of the Mason-Dixon line.

I think this thread will end poorly. That’s not an unpopular view, it’s a prediction.

I have an unpopular view that is so unpopular I don’t want to post it here. It’s something I don’t mention to most people because I don’t want to deal with the argument that will naturally ensue. It’s one of the few things that really causes friction in my marriage. But I still believe it.

i agree with HPL in a general way.

i think we should all leave each other completely alone as much as possible.

i do not believe in marriage as ownership. i do believe in marriage, for those who wish it. and what do i care to whom or what you make a vow? you wanna make one, go right ahead.

i think people who do things like sit in a rented basement all day smoking pot are dumb, but i’d rather not pay taxes to do anything about it.

i don’t have opinions about your beliefs, except that you are free to have them, but that doesn’t make them Truth for All.

i am certain that most people are unable to make logical decisions without interference from blind emotion. some emotion is necessary for health, but not for decision-making. most people cannot tell the difference.

if we all worked to make our surroundings and our communities nice places to be, most functions of the overarching State would be rendered unnecessary, and it could concentrate on some worthwhile endeavors. what those are i cannot say.

i am definitely not a racist or any ist. to me, people are all one and the same, except some seem really dumb and that’s not limited to gender or ethnic background. we should still leave the dumb ones alone, though, unless they harm us directly.

i do not believe that limiting our individual freedoms will stop terrorism, and i do not believe that limiting our freedom now secures it for later. think about it–how often does the government enact a law only to repeal it later? there are only a few examples out of thousands of laws now in place. why do we still need law-makers? don’t we have enough laws?

i’d like for our representatives to be law-examiners, law-focusers, law-fixers, etc., instead. it’s all in there now that we agree that All Men Are Created Equal means Everybody, rather than just white male property-owners. let’s make government better instead of bigger.

Any society that can gurantee its citizens the basic necessities of life (food, shelter, medicine) should do so. No one should starve or be homeless in America.

I don’t believe in anything but the most basic gun control (private citizens shouldn’t have access to many military-grade weapons, convited violent felons should have as little access to weapons as possible), but American gun culture scares me. If I’m expected to play Rambo to keep my family safe, I’m moving to Canada.

There is no good reason to practice cloning for reproductive reasons on humans. At the same time, when the process is perfected, there is no real reason to fear it. Clones will just be other people who look a lot more like their “parents” than usual.

Same goes for gentic engineering, mostly.

People who cannot conceive naturally (and many who can!) should adopt. The adoption process should be streamlined and overhauled to make this less onerous than it currently is.

People who do still choose to undergo fertility treatments should be denied certain treatments if they are unwilling to abort some of multiple births (no octuplets, that’s obscene).

The death penalty should be abolished (except perhaps for military matters during war). The maximum penalty should be lifetime solitary confinement.

Congress should retake the ability to declare war, and only declare it on nation-states or definable groups, not concepts.

Both a certain degree of socialism and a worldwide government are inevitable consequences of increasing industrialization. They will not necessarily be bad things either.

Anti-depressants are hideously overprescribed and often ineffective. Other, more difficults but ultimately more helpful, means of therapy must be persued.

C’mon, out with it! We showed you ours; now you’ve got to show us yours. And as I said, this is not GD.

I think that people should talk face to face with other people about what’s eating them rather than posting it in the Pit under anonymity.

The U.S. cannot win a war against terrorism.

Nope. Haven’t got time for the pain. If someone else mentions it as one of theirs I might fess up.

I’ll give you a much milder one, though:

Most bands suck live. In most cases just staying at home and listening to the CD is a much more pleasant, entertaining, and inexpensive choice.

ALL drugs should be made legal and available to all. Intelligent people will stay away from them, and the stupid will keep doing what they’ve been doing until they’re all gone. Natural Selection. Ahhhh.

As long as we have race, we’ll have racism.

I made myself very unpopular in a racism in America class back in college by answering the question, “How do we end racism?” with this answer: Controlled miscegenation of the races with a world-wide breeding program would, after a finite (but probably large) number of generations end up with a planet populated by people who share, for all intents and purposes, exactly the same racial structure.

Seeing as I was the only white person in the class, this didn’t go over well with the other students. The teacher didn’t say I was wrong, however…

Likewise, I believe it’s in the nature of the human beast to divide people up into categories: race, age, gender, religion, nationality, income, height, fitness, health, blah blah blah. Having divided the people up, it is also in our nature to prefer one set over the other, and to discriminate against the one we don’t like. I don’t know if it’s possible to overcome this.

There is not nearly as much mental disease in the world as many psychiatrists, social workers and guidance counselors say there is.

Faith does not excuse ignorance, and does excuse one from having to think.

People making money off the religious faith of others are not taking advantage of anyone.

Human life does have a price tag.

True democracy is impossible, not because some people will always try to seize authority over others, but because so many people will always seek to hand over authority to others.

Yoko was the best thing to happen to the Beatles.

The Major League baseball players and owners should all be locked together in a room with no food, water or toilet facilities until they can reach a reasonable agreement. Then they should be left in there to starve in their own filth while the rest of us go back to the local parks to enjoy playing and watching the game ourselves.

Prostitution and drug use should be legal. Driving or otherwise endangering others while intoxicated should be much more heavily punished.

Japan’s government needs to be taken over by a foreign power again. The current system is set up so that all reforms must be approved or carried out by those with a vested interest in not seeing those reforms implemented. As the economy worsens and their positions become more precarious, their need to protect themselves by resisting reform will become more desperate, until there is nothing left, at which point a radical shift in government power seems likely. A foreign occupation is preferable to government by the ultra-nationalist, anti-foreigner isolationists who would most likely come to poewer in a time of crisis. Personally, I’d like to see the Korean government step in, but that’s mostly for the fun of watching the aforementioned UNAFI’s shit themselves.

I’m probably way out there on that last one.

A few more very minor ones:

Warbling tunelessly to atonal electronic sounds doesn’t make amazing music. Radiohead, I’m looking at you.

The weakest parts of the Harry Potter books were the Quidditch parts. Not only do I have no interest in sports, it seemed like a really stupid sport, and the Golden Snitch bit makes it even dumber.

Spike’s return to Buffy the Vampire Slayer in season 4 was the worst thing to happen to the show.

Most “alternative” religions are just as silly, baseless, and ridiculous as the traditional ones they are reacting against, if not more so.

Okay, maybe that last one wasn’t so minor.
