I kinda doubt it - but, if anyone had been wondering… my user name “smug” no longer exists.
Outta here. Gone. History.
It was my old football team nickname - and it’s been years since I’ve played ball.

My cousin, who was the QB for the opposing team at that time, tagged me with the “smug” moniker after I told him in the pre-game warm up that I was going to intercept him twice before halftime.
He replied in a falsetto British Monty Python impression, loud enough for all to hear, “My, aren’t we the smug one.”
As luck would have it, a lineman tipped a pass on the second play from scrimmage, the ball landing softly in my hands as I rumble 25 yards untouched into the end zone for six. Two possessions later, I snag another one of his intended passes, taking this one back 65 yards for a major, just avoiding his diving tackle attempt at the three yard line.
I looked at my cousin who was collapsed on the grass and handed him the ball - while saying in my own Monty Python high pitched voice, “You can call me smug.”
The rest of the season, and for three seasons later. The guys on team just called me smug. It’s stuck with me for awhile, but I haven’t played in years.

But here at the SDMB, I’m really not smug. There are way too many brilliant people here for me to be considered “smug.”
So… I changed my user name. Now you know.

I’m from Edmonton, Alberta. I’m 36, with a journalism degree. I’m single, no kids, never married, and I have three jobs.
I am the nightshift manager at canadatrader.com where we make “Trader” publications, a Canada-wide weekly vehicle and equipment photo classified magazine(s). I also own and operate a tree farm, growing mostly spruce and pine. As well, I am involved in business where we reclaim former gravel mined land and develop it into usable city housing/recreational land.

I love most sports - but now I only play golf and occasionally tennis - if I get the time.
And I’m certainly not “smug” in either of those two sports.
