Unusual Christmas List requests

My 15-year-old niece told me at Thanksgiving dinner what is tops on her Christmas list this year.

A thesaurus.

She thinks it would be nice if her grandma also gets the dictionary that is suggested as a companion gift, but she’ll be fine with a $14 thesaurus.

Yes, she and her sister are brilliant and smart, but they are also atheletic and silly and popular and musically talented…she’s not your stereotypical geek.

So what unusual items will be showing up on Christmas lists in your family?

I asked for a proper dictionary for christmas when I was about that age, my mother bought me TopShop vouchers. She doesn’t get the geekness.

Our nine year old daughter, normally a tomboy who wears hoodies, Levis, and big black spectacles (modeling herself after the fashion stylings of Mythbusters’ Adam Savage), asks for red velvet overalls every Christmas. Beats me.
