There are several other current threads dealing with unusual first names so perhaps we can add to the fun by listing some out-of-the-ordinary names of classmates from high school. Nicknames included.

twins Aaron and Marion (their names rhymed)
I suppose it isn’t very unusual, but in middle school we always had a bunch of annoying humiliating announcements at the end of the real ones (Zsofia, your mother is bringing your lunch) but Princess got a lot of “Princess, ride the bus home” annoucements.
I think ethnicity would affect results.
For me going to a pretty-much WASP-ish school, there was a guy nicknamed Whipper. He was white, his real name was William/Bill. Whipper had an afro, but it was a blond afro.

One of the main photographers in my class, his last name was Loftquist. We all called him Lofty; I have no idea what his first name really was.
There were a few nicknames that were applied to guys because of unusual attributes or activities and the girls might not be fully aware of what those names referred to, so it was always amusing at assemblies and pep rallies when these guys would come into the auditorium and the girls would yell out to them.
