Up bright and blurfy in the MMP

Or because bees can’t be housebroken? Nut, help us out here.

Thanks again to you guys for all the kind thoughts… it really does help to know that you guys care ((((evvybody)))) We found a good spot for him with his brothers and sister out in the flowerbed, Bet he was the only rat in history with this song as his funeral processional.

I used to sing it to him when he was a little bitty baby rat. All of my babies have been sweet, but he was the sweetest of them all.

((((Ace)))) Hang in there!

Evening all. Well, I fought against nappage and nappage won. And then the rain and thunder showed up just in time to cancel soccer practice, so there’s another day I should have been out getting some exercise shot to heck. One of these days the weather is going to cooperate…

{{{Ace}}}, hang in there, at least you and yours did get to say goodbye, even at a distance…something I missed out on. Cooking for FIL is a noble thing. Oh, and that little cartoon you posted on FB-the Humpty-Dumpty one? It’s been shared 11 times already from my home page–you have a hit on your hands!!

nellie, seems like I either wake up at 6am or 9am–not much in-between.

Sari, sounds like that dog park is a danger zone, what with golf balls and kamikaze canines… What type of fence you getting, chain link or wood? It seems that mine only took 1.5–2 days to do. Porbalby has other jobs, as long as your satisfied with the finished product.

talky, they can tell me anything they want to if there’s money in it…

Nut, doesn’t matter to the maintenence people; you’re on the schedule for that time of the year and by God, that’s what you get…

OK, need to forage for sustenance. Refrigerator is looking pretty bare at the end of the month and the Great September shopping trip is planned for tomorrow. Everyone have a good night now.

I’ve sent a note to my doc expressing my displeasure with the treatment I’m on. It’s almost like I’m being punished!

((((gotti)))) there’s a reason they call it “practicing” medicine, I reckon. Praying a solution is found soonest!

SIL has taken 2 truckloads of stuff to the house. His brother is going to take our old coffee table. Roxy is having a terrible evening - really fussy. And daughter is stressed from work. It’s one of those evenings…

On the plus side, the meatloaf was good. And I think I’m sleeping with Mel tonight, after the 3AM awakening.

dot, you made me giggle after a day that contained much cursing.

{{{pearl}}} RIP Dom

I thought that I had everything set up for a peaceful, low energy EoM. Then my boss kicked back three reports 45 minutes before time to leave wanting them changed. I like her, but, c’mon! She’d had them since last Wednesday. Meanwhile, back at my desk, I was still hauling butt trying to get adjustments made (the older version of the system that has the majority of inventory at the moment has glitches and hang ups that they refuse to fix at this late date), so more irk was just what I needed. NOT! I got out an hour late.

Nelson and I got to meet a neighbor’s two new puppies this afternoon. They’re eight week old white chihuahua littermates. Squee! They are so new (as in just brought home today) that they don’t even have names yet. Nelson sniffed them and everybody’s tails wagged. I hope that they will play with hime from time to time.

We’re still getting rain, so indoor activities will be on the agenda for a few more days.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Day 2 of a headache that is so bad I messaged my doctor and asked her to be admitted to the hospital. No real response, of course.

I am so sorry. That’s why y’all didn’t hear from me much Thursday and Friday, one of those 2 day migraine headaches. Then there’s always the post migraine ‘hangover’ fatigue the day after it’s over. Which leaves out all the yahoos, including doctors, who think we’re making it up…

I promise if I find out the secret to preventing or ending them, I’ll let you know immediately.

Til then, it’s Botox and imitrex injections. I gave up asking for pain medications a long time ago😬.

Boo

Follow the bouncing stylist… California now has a color coding system even more obscure than the old Homeland Security terror scale to show what categories of businesses can reopen. What’s got everyone thoroughly puzzled is how the new scale only shows what individual counties are allowed to allow. Even though purple is bad, salons can reopen inside, but at reduced capacity.

So, back to the salon to bring PWAISDN in from the parking lot. He’s already got a small swarm of clients coming in for color (Pandemic roots!) which was technically not allowed in the past month.

Strangely, San Francisco County is red, so slightly better than purple, but they’re not allowing salons to reopen inside. Go figure…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 75 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 94 and could be rain this afternoon. Or not. Willy-nilly be TWPTB! Today is laundry day. Woo! We shall sup upon ham again tonight with side matter TBD.

{{{Pearl}}} so sorry about Dom.

{{{Ace}}} here’s hopin’ all MILs kids can get to say goodbye at least. Seems to me that an exception could be made in a Hospice situation. My dad was in hospital Hospice for the last two days he lived and I was grateful to have had that chance to say goodbye. My mom was in home Hospice for a month, and I was again grateful I could be there and say goodbye.

Gotti good for you for stickin’ up for yourself with the doc. So many folks seem to not want to do that. Also yay for PWAISDN!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday and September 1st Y’all!

Morning, mumpers…and happy 1st September! I was trying to post in here yesterday but couldn’t get logged in. Our internet was having one of those days, or perhaps it was blokie downloading too much stuff at once. It was a public holiday and I wasn’t about to spend it sitting here waiting for the laptop to do something. I did laundry, vacuumed the floors, put the rubbish and recycling out, and made dinner instead.

(((((Ace and family)))))
(((((Pearl))))) sorry to hear about Dom, they do leave a hole behind them, don’t they?
(((((Dots))))) just 'cos…

Back to the grind today, we are preparing for more Exam Board meetings which means loads of work for me as usual. On the plus side, it’s September and my calendar has real social events in it again!

How is it September already?? That makes it 9 months since I retired… wow.

We had some heavy rain come thru around 3 this morning. I had awakened at 2 and I was up till around 4, then I slept fitfully till 7-ish. Daughter is at work, SIL is back in bed because his second job starts at 11, then the first one starts at 4. Roxy is watching TV quietly for the moment. It won’t last, but I’ll take it.

They’re discovering how much crap they really have - even after a dozen truck-and-car-loads, there’s still way more than they expected. So now they have to unpack, put away, then bring boxes back to pack and haul the rest. They’re gonna be busy for a while.

I’ve got 2 weeks to stow stuff out of the way of the painters and cut back the carpet in the common areas to facilitate painting. We’ve decided to leave the bedroom carpets in place for now. And I think we’ve decided to just repaint the front door we have rather than replace it. Plus we’ll replace the hideous yellow glass panels.

I honestly don’t know how we’ve lived with the ugly for 16 years!! Just need to decide if we’ll go with clear glass or privacy glass. Considering the clear bow window is just a few feet to the left, privacy glass doesn’t make sense, except to diffuse the evening light - the door faces west.

I’ll also replace the passage set and get a proper deadbolt. The one on there now is key lock from the outside, but nothing on the inside - no idea why they did it that way. It’ll be white on the inside and we’ll pick a more colorful outside - maybe burgundy or forest green?

But that’s a chore for another day. Today is Roxy Wrangling.

Happy Tuesday!

In one of the Jack Aubrey “Master and Commander”, the Doctor takes up bee keeping.
“You mean there are five thousand bees aboard, howling for blood?”

Among yesterday’s accomplishments: I bought a bra.

Among today’s planned errands: returning said bra.

The excitement never ends!

Oh, and I’m inching closer to filing those taxes I deferred this year. Okay y’all, so last night, I took the file box (still taped closed by the movers) and I moved it from a shelf, to my living room floor where it’s visible and in my way. Thus, I can no longer willfully ignore it, and will have to step over it.

Where’s my shower of accolades?!? This counts as progress.

Mooooooom, Is there a bar missing it’s front door?

Morning all. Actually slept pretty well and am making out my grocery list for later this morning. Also found that my camera now longer works (probably dropped it once to often) so need to see about replacing it. Reason I need a camera is the soccer store sent me the wrong type of practice cones and wants pictures to prove it. So pictures they get…

Dry this morning, hopefully will stay dry this afternoon and soccer can commence, but a 50% chance of showers, and given my luck so far…

FCM, I kinda like those doors…of course, I haven’t had to look at them for 16 years either.

{{{{Sunny, Boo}}}}, haven’t had those types of headaches for many years, but they are miserable. Take care of yourselves.

Red, bosses be bosses…and puppies!! And looking at the NWS maps, looks like Arkansas is drowning again and it may be moving your way, so rain again…

All y’all take care now.

For some reason, this always evoked “pizza joint” to me, tho bar is another possibility. The people who built this place (the previous owners) were, um, quirky. What kills me along with the weird glass is the peep hole, because, as I said, there’s a huge bow window not 6’ to the left of the door. Then again, maybe they never opened the curtains.

They’re the same people who had a barrel bolt on the inside of their bedroom door and an alarm in one garden shed (but not the larger one??) and a fire-detector in the garage. Bolting themselves in the bedroom seemed stupid, especially since the windows end up on the second level above the walk-out basement. That’s a helluva escape route!

Have I ever mentioned that they put dates inside the garbage can lids? Not the fruit, but (I assume) the purchase date. It’s 10-91, if you’re interested.

MetalMouse - would you like me to send you the glass when we remove it?

Misery loves company. I’m on day 2 of a headache. Not a migraine but bad enough that I’m tired, my head hurts, and I’m sick to my stomach. Irking from home today, although I had to take a break to help Ursala Kitteh get into her paper bag.

Holy cow, I hope you’ve gotten some treatment. I’m so sorry.

Today is grey again and gross, but we’ve already gotten some rain, so that’s nice. At least it’s a productive grey, gross day. I’m exhausted - I got caught up first talking to my husband last night, then in a book before sleep until nearly 1 a.m. My brain is mushy and I was unmotivated to begin with. It’s a rare day that I miss having back to back meetings - at least that would feel like I was working. Oh, well - there’s coffee.

On another random note, someone will have to explain to me the allure of about 90% of youtube. My 14 year old son and 45 year old husband both trail me throughout the house making me watch various youtube and reddit videos of people screaming, sundry memes and vines, talking about random shit like Karens and emo kids and doing impressively stupid things. I finally told them this morning that I was fresh out of attention to give and to please, please stop following me around. One day they may listen. And on that day I won’t know what to do with myself anymore.
