Positing this here because for some reason I can’t PM you (says you’re not accepting PMs) and I don’t want to hijack a breaking news thread, so I’m going to explain my attempt at a joke here (I know, I know. If you have to explain the joke…):
I know it was an Airplane reference. And I was doing a riff on it. That is, they’re actually calling you Shirley and telling you not to call them. Call as in “don’t call us, we’ll call you.”
Read it as “Don’t call me, Shirley” rather than “Don’t call me Shirley.”
