I decided to start using my Apple Watch, series 3 again. It has been awhile, it currently is on OS 6.2 and needs to get up to 8.7.1. I cannot get it to do that. The updates will not download on the iphone, it just freezes after a while. I have tried restarting multiple times, same thing happens. In an unpaired state it appears to be worthless, I cannot get to the apps on the watch at all. Is there anything I am missing? Is there any way to use the watch without the phone?
Is it possible there is no space left on your phone for the watch update to download? Are you able to update your phone with no problems? I would delete the watch app, do a hard reboot on your phone and watch, and reload the watch app on your phone. I have a series 3 watch and have never had a problem updating it.
