If you don’t already know, you can find out about my mom here and here.
I took her in for more tests today. A) Cancer is not completely ruled out. They won’t be able to tell if it’s cancer until they open her up. (Which I’ve been saying they should do since the beginning.) B) She’ll be in and out of surgery before Dec. 7, but we still don’t have a definite date. I have to take her in on Friday to meet with Dr. Adams, the surgeon.
She, of course, is still in a lot of pain. The doctor that we talked to today said that they’re going to go in and just cut out the bad piece of her stomach, which appears to be layered with scar tissue and, possibly, cancer. She’ll start to feel better immediately following the surgery. She’s very excited. Me too. I’m starting to get used to seeing her cry, but it still sucks. This isn’t nearly as hard on me now as it was when it all started though, which is good. I can take care of things better when I’m not completely stressed.
It’s good that something is being done finally. I hope the surgery goes well and that you get some answers (and I think it’s your turn to get some good answers for once).

[sub] & I haven’t forgotten about the post card either…I will write it & it will wing its merry way to you with pretty pictures! [/sub]
It gets easier when something is actually getting done. I hope it is an uncomplicated surgery for her, and that you guys can have a less stressful holiday season.
I’m so glad to hear that they’re expecting your mom to feel better directly after the surgery. That’s wonderful news. Hang in there, m’dear, and know that you’re in my thoughts.
My dad (the truck driver) is home now, and he’s not going to go back on the road until after my mom’s surgery. Which means two things. A) I don’t have to be the one that drives my mom back and forth. Which is good, because the wait during surgery would kill me. B) My parents are going to be so poor. Which is fine because there are at least three other able bodied people here, with income. But they hate “taking” money from their children, so they feel guilty like they’ll have to pay us back or something. ::sigh:: The fun never stops…
Dr. ADAMS, huh? Wonder if he’s any relation to the Big Guy. . .
Seriously. I’m glad all this seems to be getting better. You know you can talk to me whenever. I’ll be praying for your mom and your family. This will all work out.
