After taking a vacation, I figured out that Boston wasn’t the place for me, and moved back to Atlanta about two months ago. About a week after getting down here, I went to donate blood to the Red Cross, and won a new iPad at their raffle. Also met somebody there who ended up becoming my new boss, I’m currently doing research analysis…and I love it, it’s a great job. Life’s definitely looking up.
Looking back, I received a lot of bad advice from people I thought could be more helpful, but c’est la vie, I’m glad I took charge and managed to turn things around, and I’m glad at the end I did get a bit of good advice from one of the best people I know.
I’m referring above to offline advice, but I also asked a question or two here at SD. Of course, without knowing me, I didn’t expect members of the fora to provide earth-shattering insights on every aspect of my life…but I figured it couldn’t hurt. I am grateful to those of y’all who pushed me to think positively, so thanks for that. I was in the gutter at times, felt like every day was the same, bad days turning into bad weeks and months. Without the encouragement of those who told me to keep going…well, I wasn’t going to do anything drastic, but I was certainly headed in a generally negative direction personally. Now I feel like I’ve really turned a new page, that I’m starting to make steps for positive change, and I’m in motion – both physically and mentally – providing momentum for more positive change.
