Since the Teeming Millions must have been holding baited breath for the last year, in anxious anticipation of the outcome, well, here it is – the Yellow Pages side of the phone book is coughing up $3,000 for putting my advert in the wrong place (under my first name rather than my last name). Good for them.
I didn’t know about it at the time – it didn’t occur to me to look under my first name.
It made for an interesting conversation with the account representative:
Muffin: “I have a complaint about my ad.”
Account Rep: “What is it?”
Muffin: “Have a look at it.”
Account Rep: “I can’t find it.”
Muffing: “That’s my complaint.”
I’m curious about Giraffe’s comment in that thread-- saying that it’s not “of broad enough interest to remain open.” While it’s possible that most people would find an OP like that somewhat dull, does it tax the servers more to have threads open? Wouldn’t that mean that all threads older than 3 months should be closed to save space and prevent zombies? And if it’s not a space issue, where’s the harm in leaving it open to see if people would post in it?
