I’m planning on doing a fresh installation of Windows XP on a computer with no Internet access. Is it possible for me to obtain XP SP1 and all other critical updates, put them on a CD, and use this CD to update my new XP installation?
Here are instuctions for slipstreaming XP with SP1a using Nero (using your CD-R software will be similar). Rex Fenestrarum also has a site with instructions for this, but I don’t know the URL. Maybe he’ll drop in with it.
Thanks for the link and the Doper name. I’ve never been to ElderGeek before and it looks chock full o’ goodness. Searching the SDMB for Rex and “windows install” gave me this thread which contains the file info on the executable version of SP1. Good stuff, now I’m on my way.
