…without video, but with one of those spinning records that one sees from time to time.
Know what I mean, Vern?
Last summer I recorded a song that I wrote and I would like to upload it to YouTube, but unfortunately there is no video of me playing my drums or guitars, so so I was wondering if YouTube may have one of those thinga-ma-bobs ( a pre-packed film of a spinning record) that I could add my audio to?
I know I’m not explaining this very well, but that’s the best I can do, sorry!
I’ve never seen that YouTube has any tools to encourage the uploading of audio-only tracks. Make a video, using video tools…only leave out the video part.
Nope, ripped it from DVD. I have an editing program, Canpous Edius, that allows me to import material from DVD directly into audio and video tracks. I then added a second track ripped from a CD and started editing.
Edius is a very sophisticated program, and overkill for your needs. Windows Movie Maker on the PC or iMovie on a Mac can do what you need and both are included free with the OS.
I am so sorry, but other than surfing the net and playing WoW (which is getting difficult as well), I have no idea of how to achieve what you just now wrote.
That’s why I suggest using one of the programs provided with the major operating systems. There are a ton of tutorial web pages for both. Any program uses the same basic operational paradigm…a “timeline” from left to right, usually with separate audio and video “tracks”. You would import your audio file of your song and drop it onto the audio track. Then add video and/or still pictures to the video track. You shift the video bits earlier or later in the song by shifting them left or right.
Basically, it’s exactly the same as any audio editing/music recording program, but with the addition of video. If you successfully managed to record piano and guitar at different times and make it sound OK, adding visuals is not much more difficult.
