Uploading Audio Only To YouTube

Kids?

I need some step-by-step (“hold my hand you idiot”) instructions on how to upload a song I recently produced to YouTube.

It sucks (especially the lead guitar - I can’t play lead worth a shit), but some of my friends in Germany want to hear it.

Can someone help me, please?

  1. Open Windows Movie Maker (should be in your Start/Programs menu, unless you moved it. It can also be found at C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\moviemk.exe)

  2. In Movie Maker, go to Tools - Options - Advanced (tab) and set the default Picture Duration to 30 seconds. Click the OK button to save.

  3. Go to File - Import into Collection. Choose a picture from your computer to serve as the picture for this “video.” Like a picture of one of your guitars.

  4. Go to File - Import into Collection again, and choose your audio file to add to your Collection.

  5. Drag your photo from the Collection panel into the “Video” part of the timeline at the bottom of the screen (if you see a storyboard instead of a timeline, click the “Show Timeline” button.)

  6. Drag your music from the Collection panel into the “Audio” part of the timeline.

  7. Put your mouse over the right-hand side of your picture in the Video part of the timeline (where there’s a left-facing arrow). A red <–> arrow will show up. Click and drag the photo frame to match the duration of your audio.

  8. Go to File - Save Movie File.
    Choose “My Computer” and hit the “Next” button.
    Then type in a name for your file (without the extension like .avi) and choose a location to save it to. Hit the “Next” button. (Don’t forget the name and location!!!)
    Under Movie Setting, choose “Other Settings” then “High Quality Video (small)” and hit the “Next” button.
    This will save your movie to the location you chose.
    When it’s done, click “Finish” to finish the wizard. You can also tell it to play the movie you just created so you can see it.

  9. Log in to YouTube and upload the video file you just created.

I guess I should have mentioned that all of my stuff is on cd, and I have no idea how to store it first.:frowning:

I know. I’m shaking my head too, because a year ago, this would not have been a problem.

Can you just please start me off with putting the cd on the computer and then I’ll go to your instructions? I have Windows Vista and I hate it!!!
