Sitting here at home watching UCB on CD,wondering whatever became of this show?
I loved the show, but it was a little odd for the mainstream. I’m guessing that’s why it went away. They do occassionally show reruns on Comedy Central between 2 and 3 PM.
The UCB members can be found here, with their own improv theater.
If you haven’t seen Martin and Orloff , you should check it out. It’s the gang in a full length film that’s just hilarious. The movie is showing at my school this weekend, and I can’t wait to see it again.
I’ve never seen it (I’m in Canada) but Amazon constantly suggests it to me!
I’m a big fan. I have the first season on DVD, and for a while Comedy Central was running an hour of old UCB episodes some afternoons.
I don’t know why it got canceled, because I thought it was hilarious. Those stupid astronauts (or cyborgs) probably had something to do with it. I think they should pray on that. I need to relax; I’m going to go hang out in my Hot Chicks Room.
I loved UCB. I loved how it was so off-the-wall. I love how all of the different storylines would converge in the end.
There was one episode where they featured a dialect championship, and one women hired a dialectician to train her son. The son grew upset with the dialectician, and lisped, “Screw this, I’m going to the park!” I remember the dialectician calling after him, “The dialects in the park aren’t pure!”
So weird. So good.
I have the first season on DVD, and I keep hoping that they’ll release more, although I don’t think they will. Bummer.
