From where I sit, it’s just unbelievable that Walker is getting anything more than 0%. How is he getting even a single vote? Right now they’re way too close to call. This is not a world that I’m comfortable living in.
NYT is showing Walker has taken the lead. Only about 850 votes but still.
In 2020, wasn’t the Georgia runoff election in January?
Yes it was. January 3 if I recall correctly.
January 5th, 2021. I think the loss was a big factor in the January 6th insurrection attempt.
The new voting laws reduced the amount of time between election and run off.
Walker’s lead is now almost 20,000. The good news is there is still a lot of vote left from Fulton and DeKalb county.
Ah, thank you.
Big dump from DeKalb - Warnock back up again and the county is still less than half in.
The NYT Needle appears to be having technical difficulties, and is not working at this moment. Warnock in the lead after a partial Dekalb dump.
72 percent in, hold that lead!
Because there are tons of people in GA even dumber than Walker and all they care about is that ‘R’ after his name. They know they’re voting for a rubber stamp. That’s what they want.
I lived in and around Atlanta for 4 years when I was younger. I speak from direct experience.
A real nail-biter, NY Times says with 74% in
Herschel Walker | Rep. | 1,309,708 | +50.04%50.04% |
---|---|---|---|
Raphael Warnock*** incumbent | Dem. | 1,307,714 | +49.96%49.96 |
Ugh!
And re. the live forecast and needle, “We have temporarily paused updates to our estimates while we investigate a data issue.”
The lead has flipped like 3 times in 5 minutes. This is stressful.
Forgive me, but I’m genuinely not following this: what’s dumb about wanting a rubber stamp?
Because a senator is supposed to represent the needs of the state he or she represents, and not just do what the political leadership tells them? At least, they are supposed to pretend to do this. Walker’s not smart enough to even pretend.
Maybe because a rubber stamp has no intelligence and no understanding of anything that its head is being used to stamp?
I didn’t actually say they were dumb for wanting a rubber stamp. I said they were dumb AND wanted a rubber stamp.
Ha! You almost tricked me with your clever ruse.
And the alternative to Someone Who’ll Vote The Way I Want Him To is — what, someone who’s not going to vote the way I want? Why wouldn’t I prefer the stamp?
Moderating:
… and this hijack is over now, right? Right?
