Just saw that, and they were in different heats.
Should be an interesting men’s 1500, I’d look for Centrowitz to take it, but will be rooting for Andrews.
Ooh, unlucky result for Wallace Spearman in the 200 semi. He won his heat, but there was a decent headwind, and it appears as if he’ll have an unfavorable lane assignment for the finals; I still think he’ll win, but it does pose a greater challenge running from lane 2 or 7 as opposed to 4 or 5.
Look for Aries Merritt and Jason Richardson to have a sizzling 110 highs final, possibly threaten the meet record of 12.92.
Hmm, that 110 race may have already been contested when I made that last post - tho I’m not watching, just checking the USATF page. Merritt missed the meet record by .01 - he’s certainly poised to challenge the WR next month.
Run off for the third spot on the women’s 100 m team will be on Monday at 8:30 pm Eastern time. It will be shown on the NBC coverage of the swimming trials. Or maybe some other trials, kind of fuzzy here.
Just watched the highlights. Allyson Felix crushed, just crushed in the 2; Angelo Taylor may have gotten the silver in the trials, but I’d look for him to win the 400 ih in London, that clipped hurdle cost him at least a quarter of a second; nice win by Leo Manzano in the 15, great finish to best Centro, thought that Wheating threw Andrews off at the top of the last turn brilliantly, too bad for Robby, but watch for him in the future.
Tarmoh withdraws, there will be no run-off.
