USA Election Watch 2026

Osborn says he plans to “caucus with everybody”, whatever that means.

Achilles seems likely to go D.

For Ohio statewide races, things are really close. But Cuyahoga County (Cleveland et al) is less than half reported, and Lucas County (Toledo et al) has zero reported. So there should be a windfall for D’s once those get sorted out.

That’s why Acton and Brown are a lock, too. But the smaller statewide races for judges and treasurer and stuff are really close.

NE and ID have no Democratic nominee and the Democrats are endorsing independent candidates. MT is a three-way race between a Republican, an independent endorsed by Democrats, and a non-endorsed Democrat in a distant third.

Whoops. He just fell behind Risch-R in Idaho.

MSNow says AP just called Turek (D) in Iowa. Another flip!

The minister wins Kansas and the seminary student wins Texas, both shocking results. If El-Sayed wins Michigan, the commentators are going to twist themselves into knots trying to explain what future direction Democrats should take.

Yes! My vote counted.

After Rogers closing in on Abdul for most of the past hour, the latest update just looked good for Abdul (went from 3.3 points up to 4.1, with about 45% now reporting).

Still, not feeling celebratory yet, even with all the flips. This is the one that I really, really want.

There are some very angry farmers in Iowa. This is beyond a shellacking. This is salting Carthage.

I knew it was going to be bad here in Texas for Republicans, but this is a whole new level.

Texas didn’t just “turn blue” - it became so blue that a bower bird would want to mate with it.

I haven’t lived in Texas for 26 years, but I’m still getting celebratory texts. It’s incredible. (for me and my blue friends)

ME is now at 50% with Jackson up 2.

MI is 39% with El-Sayed up 3.

That’s only the two incumbents. We’re likely to have another independent in Nebraska and possibly one from Idaho. Those two are the ones who we don’t know how they might caucus.

Every single statewide office in Texas is currently on track to flip from Republican to Democrat. The flip of statewide offices from Democratic to Republican control in the 90s took several cycles to complete. I am (pleasantly!) agape at what is happening in my state tonight.

Do you have a good link for that? I’d like to share it with friends.

How ironic it’ll be if Elon fleeing California for Texas, and the ensuing migration of tech workers that followed, winds up being what turned Texas blue?

Ah. In my defense, what I was replying to was ambiguous as to whether or not it was already counting the two already in office.

For the Senate, the Republicans have not (yet) won a single “Key Race”, but Maine, Michigan, Minnesota and Nebraska have not yet been called. Minnesota does not look good for the Dems.

Mike Rounds (R) retains SD.

The Texas Tribune has live returns for all the Texas races. Democrats may take the state legislature as well. This is an incredible new day in Texas.
