10 House seats up for grabs in Washington State. (No Senate or Governor election this year.) So far 7 are called D and the other 3 are too close to call. Though it looks like 2 will go R and one D, for 8 total seats for D.
Do we really not know? If they were hedging before they will be knocking at the door now. Much easier to on committees caucusing with the majority than not I would guess.
If Osborn wins his Nebraska seat he will caucus with Democrats.

I’ve been trying to look for local results, but KING 5’s website is down right now.
The most exciting race we’ve got going here in Olympia is for county sheriff, which I really hope Derek Sanders retains. He’s got to be the most honest and transparent cop I’ve ever heard of.
Not only humans are rejoicing tonight. The voters of Washington, DC, have voted to outlaw foie gras.
Thanks!
The NYT has it as >95% chance of Dem victory.
Almost ten years ago, in a discussion about sanctuary cities:
[Republicans in the 80s decided to FAFO in California about immigrants and the result then was a Blue California]
I was off by a decade… The change was faster that I expected, but predictable.
Large urban areas yet to report. NYT estimates over 95% chance of a D win.
I’m using this site right now:
So far it looks like the millionaire tax repeal is failing by a lot and the “parental rights” initiative is also failing (though closer). Sadly the ban on trans girls in sports is winning (though that initiative is so screwed up I have a feeling it won’t survive a court challenge as written).
Tafoya (R) is up 6 points with 44% in, but considering that the linchpin of her entire campaign was “Minnesota sucks and I’m ashamed to live here”, I’d be surprised if that holds.
Missouri overturned the proposition that would have made abortion illegal
Missouri Republican Incumbent Congresswoman Ann Wagner looks to be losing her re-election bid to Fred Wellman (D). Missouri is also passing (for the second time in as many elections) a Constitutional Amendment to protect abortion rights, and another to make it more difficult for the state legislature to overturn citizen initiative ballot measures.
And, on a very local note, my representative to the Missouri House will be a Democrat for the first time since the 1970s.
For this to be accomplished in a single election would be astounding. I grew up in TX and go visit family a couple of times a year. I’ve known they have moved to more centrist/left positions but I had no idea anything like this was possible in general. Amazing times.
Ann Wagner is no longer my representative*, which is nice.
*As of January 3.
If everything stays the way it is with the not-yet-called races, then we should be looking at a 56-44 Senate.
Not filibuster-proof, but a solid majority.
The Republicans have done their best to turn Texas into one of those shithole countries that Trump is always talking about.
Which was, of course, a repeat of an amendment we literally passed just 2 years ago.
We also passed a new amendment that makes it much harder for the legislature to put these kinds of things on the ballot in the future.
Oh, and we threw out the GOP gerrymander.
Nice to see a few fellow MO-02’ers on here!
MN now a comfortable D lead
