Sorry to see this happen, really. But as I had hit 'report this post" more than a few times myself, I can’t say I didn’t see it coming, and that the Mods weren’t giving him plenty of chances. Too bad he didn’t modify his behavior.

I think his thread about father/daughter incest was completely misinterpreted by damn near everybody. He was simply wondering why fathers aren’t attracted to their daughters more often, he wasn’t advocating it. It’s a perfectly valid anthropological question, one that was discussed in my anthro class. The answer to this question, IIRC what was taught those many years ago, was that the incest taboo came about to prevent the family unit from being broken up. If the taboo weren’t there, the aging mother would have a tough time competing with the younger daughter, and the family unit would suffer. (I don’t recall how widely accepted this was, and since it was many years ago this theory may have been discredited since.)
I think Kel’s only fault there was not explaining himself properly, and not asking the question in more clinical terms. I think all it was was the same curiosity that leads people to study the incest taboo. I did not see it as advocacy of incest.
And the BBQ thread listed in the OP was not him defending incest, but defending the original thread.
Yes, I see there were plenty of other reasons to ban him, I’m not saying he should be reinstated. I just think this particular issue was misinterpreted.

Au contraire, I think almost everybody knew exactly what it was: a troll (as were the majority of his posts). The guy was like a kid with a stick stirring up the beehive just to watch the reaction.

Well, obviously I disagree. There was no reason for it to be a “beehive”, it was perfectly valid question. It was only a beehive because people were piling on without bothering to even try to understand the question. Pack mentality.
If that were his only thread like that, I’d agree.
Finally. It wasn’t just his jerkish comments - there was something seriously creepy with him, esp. with his lovely little incest thread. Good riddance.
And I fully support the unleashing of Trogdor to burninate him.
