It reminds me of every stupid misogynist old man I used to work for that was having trouble with gays, women and not manly enough slightly intellectual men having equal footing in the modern workplace.
It seems like discrimination, but the truth is that even though conservatives are a minority on this board, they’re responsible for a disproportionate amount of idiocy. If they really wanted to make a difference, they’d start working together in their own community to find a solution, but it’s easier to play the victim and blame someone else for their problems. It’s largely a result of the decline in the overall quality of education and the negative influence of a permissive culture that teaches conservatives from a young age that they can be as stupid as they want without facing any consequences. And make no mistake, it’s a cultural problem. There are conservatives in many other countries, and not all of them are gibbering dumbfucks— which is why when they come here, they often have trouble relating to our conservatives.
You can fight the idiocy at its source, by providing relevant counterarguments. There are stupid conservatives on the board, there are also stupid liberals. I wouldn’t call Bricker stupid though, so it seems to me that just being conservative lends itself to pitting. Also, as has been mentioned in this thread already, this particular pitting is unusually low effort.
Really though, I just want a little variety; the Big T thread a while back was a nice change of pace.
I actually don’t really have much of a beef with anyone; I honestly can’t think of anyone on this board that I really have that much dislike for. There have been a few in the past, but they aren’t active posters anymore - most of those posters seemed to not be well received in general.
Just cause I want something to be better, does it mean that I have to be the one to make it better? By that analogy movie reviewers, political pundits and Yelp should never exist.
