Send me an e-mail (address is in my profile) from the e-mail address tied to your straight dope user name, along with the new name that you are requesting, and maybe a couple of alternates in case that one isn’t available.

His real name is Mister Mxyzptlk but someone on his last board tricked him badly. That and he totally failed spelling.
Or (with apologies to George Carlin) their real name is Anbalee but its spelled S M I T H ------ the A is silent and the rest of the letters don’t count.

No, I’m still just a moderator. I can do all of the grunt work for name changes like verifying the request and making sure the name is available and all of that. I can’t make the change myself, though. Once I have all of the info I pass it on to our admin (Jerry) who does the real magic.

And I bet Jerry takes all the credit when the name is finally changed.
That’s why he gets the big bucks.
