username weirdness

OK, I just hit the main page of the SDMB, and the little thing at the top said, “Welcome back, JayLa! Your last visit was Sept. 27!” (I didn’t note the exact time.)

Well, my user name is not JayLa, it’s MsWhatsit. I went to the edit profile login page, then rethought, and decided to reload the front page again. When I reloaded the front page, it correctly recognized me as MsWhatsit.

I am the only person who uses this computer. What the heck just happened there?

Wow, actually that pretty much explains the problem. Thanks, Geobabe! I’m not 100% sure, but I am reasonably sure that I work at the same company, if not necessarily the same building, as galt and JayLa. As far as I know, I’m not using a proxy server, but I’m not that familiar with my network settings here, so it’s possible. I just started working in this building on Monday. :slight_smile:
