Users can now select their SDMB "style" (board appearance)

Users of the Straight Dope Message Board can now select their SDMB “style” (AKA theme or skin) - that is, how the board looks on their screen. To change styles, do the following:

  1. Go to the nav bar at the bottom of any page. Embedded in it you’ll see a drop-down menu showing the current style. The default is “Sultantheme’s Responsive vB3-blue.”

  2. You may select any style from the menu. The style we used for many years was “Straight Dope v3.7.3.” Click/tap on the desired style and you’ll switch to it immediately.

  3. Once you’ve determined your favorite style, you can make it your personal default by navigating to UserCP > Settings & Options > Edit Options > Miscellaneous Options > Forum Skin. Select your desired style from the drop-down menu, then click/tap “Save Changes.” The style you selected will be shown every time you log in.

As its name suggests, “Sultantheme’s Responsive vB3-blue” is responsive - that is, it adapts the SDMB page layout to the size of your device. It’s meant to make the board easier to read on a smart phone or tablet. But the choice is yours.
