When I was a kid, there were a lot of boys who, when you told them they were being annoying, would do whatever it was more and more and more, usually until they got the smackdown from an adult.
What’s interesting is I can’t think of any girls who did the same, and I can’t think of any female poster with one of these sigs. Perhaps there are many but I have forgotten or ignored them in a surge of confirmation bias.
That’s what I don’t get. Just what is he bidding us to enjoy? His post? Well, maybe, if he’d written a particularly entertaining or instructive one. But he does it all the time, including posts with only one or two lines. What the fuck are we supposed to enjoy in those? The resonance of his name? His ineffable presence? It used to make me want to bang my head against the nearest wall every time I saw it. Now though I simply envisage banging his head against the nearest fucking wall and all is for the best again.
