Uses for Leftover Sour Cream?

Good thing it’s not in my fridge. The result would be me eating it with a spoon.
Or with tortilla chips & salsa. You fill half a bowl with sour cream and half with salsa. Scoop tortilla chips in it, getting a bit of both with each dip. I was introduced to this particular bad habit by a college roommate.

Or just scoop it up plain with Cool Ranch Doritos.

You can also mix it in when you mash potatoes. Not instead of the milk & butter, in addition to.

Mmmm, sour cream.

Hmmm…and the reason they put an expiration date on the carton is?

Mix it with a bit of prepared horseradish, and some chopped parsley and serve it as a dipping sauce with roast beef or even steak.

I never thought it was odd, but then again, I’ve never been a big fan of mayo. Potatoes, onions, sour cream and a tiny dollop of mayo -yummyl

Mix a spoonful in with canned baked beans. It makes a great middle of the night don’t have anything else in the house treat.

If you have any Frito’s around it makes a great dip.

No kidding. Leftover sour cream is like leftover chocolate. No such thing in my world!

It doesn’t sound like it would work - but it is wonderful.

Just for future reference, there is a very good baked ziti recipe that is made with sour cream. I found it on allrecipes.com and have never failed to get raves for it.

Also, allrecipes lets you type in an ingredient for the recipe search. That’s handy when you have something leftover that you want to use up.

I can’t eat nacho cheese Doritos without sour cream. Now I’m all hungry.

I also mix equal parts mayonnaise and sour cream in potato/chicken salad. It tastes less oily.
