I like that Valerie broke up with Ryan in the end. I would’ve liked her to go even farther and abort the pregnancy, but that’s not going to happen on American TV (at least in the '80s they were allowed attempt one). Besides the writers obviously having big plans down the line for the [del]Star-Child[/del] hybrid.

I liked the irony of Father Jack objecting to the use of torture implements invented by the Catholic Church. :stuck_out_tongue: I hope Erica & him get over their sqeamishness soon.

I voted liked it again, despite outrageously laughable op sec errors. The Scooby Gang* cheerfully mentioning Joshua’s name in front of a living collaborator is just sloppy. Even if Father Jack isn’t really hip to that sort of thing, the terrorist guy and Erica know better. OK, maybe terrorist guy was planning on killing the prisoner the whole time–but Erica should have a problem with that. It could be a problem she can live with under the circumstances, but we oughta see her struggle with it a little more.

Still think reporter guy is mostly looking out for himself.

Little teeny-bopper lizard girl was foolish. She knows she failed the sympathy test. Acting on her emotions right now isn’t wise.

From last week, Erica is pretty much screwed with Tyler, at least until a lizard tries to eat him. He’s freaked out about the lie regarding his alleged paternity, and she promises no more lies…then lies when asked about the V. Granted, part of the reason she did that was the jacket cam, but that boy isn’t going to like another lie…especially after being promised truth.

The story is fun. Lots of twists, and Ana just drips evil every time she’s onscreen.

  • I found the term lying around the Buffyverse. They weren’t using it, so I sorta borrowed it without asking first.

I voted liked it. I felt so bad for Ryan though :frowning:

Can’t really blame the gal, though. She didn’t sign up to be Eve for a hybrid race. Ryan shoulda been honest from the start, or kept it in his pants.

Oh I totally agree and I see her point of view… it’s just sad for Ryan because he was doing what he thought was best at the time, and he really loves her :frowning:

Hmmm…two days after the broadcast, and this will be the 6th post in the thread about this episode. Does this bode ill for the show’s chances of getting another season?

Not really. There are plenty of programs that were well-loved on the Dope, and died quickly. There are plenty of others that are held in low esteem here, but endure year after year.

I suspect the Doper population is sufficiently differentiated from the TV-watching population at large (education, income level, and so on) that we aren’t good bellweathers for a show’s success at its first release. We might be better predictors of DVD sales, though.
