I was being overly dramatic in my last post on purpose, by the way.
I don’t care how well a woman describes it (that is, sex from a male perspective), she’s never going to have the same perspective or insights that a man has - there’s just so much more to it than can be described or depicted. The same for a man attempting to describe it from a woman’s perspective. Could a man ever hope to adequately tell a woman what it feels like to give birth?
Well, perhaps not.
But then again, perhaps it is not a question of adequacy or even accuracy. All I know is that this thread has made me laugh and think and wonder in ways I had not before, and that is a precious gift. It does not matter to me if we are ever able to reach a definitively adequate expression, it is enough to enjoy the play.
